Re-roofing the boss’s house today… and treating the crew to some Southern BBQ

Today we’re replacing James Bowman’s roof using TAMKO Titan shingles. As the owner of Supreme Roofing, he had every shingle on the market to choose from. This is what he put on his own home.

Drone view from a full roof tear-off in Suwanee, GA.

This was not a small or simple roof. The roof measured 2,956 sq ft with 28 separate roof facets, a predominant 12/12 pitch, 83 ft of valleys, 120 ft of rakes, 258 ft of eaves, and 224 ft of total ridges and hips.

The insurance roof and gutter scope came in at $23,667.73, with a separate $1,140 soffit and fascia repair scope.

For this project, we removed the old roofing system, hauled away the debris, replaced the shingle system with TAMKO Titan XT Rustic Black shingles, installed new underlayment, ice and water shield, starter, hip and ridge shingles, ridge vent, drip edge, step flashing, pipe boots, and handled the gutter, soffit, and fascia repairs.

The home also had documented storm damage, including missing shingles, impact marks on the roof, dented roof vents, dented downspouts, and dented box vents.

A roof like this is a good example of why measurements, pitch, safety, materials, and proper installation all matter. It is not just “putting shingles on a roof.” It is a full system, and every detail has to be done right.

This homeowner was dealing with active leaks and had no idea what was causing them. During our inspection, we found exposed nails, holes in the shingles, and multiple installation issues. The cheapest roof isn’t always the cheapest when the repairs start adding up.

The new roof is going on in Opelika, Alabama.

This 7,000+ sq ft roof replacement is a perfect example of why the details matter. After the tear-off, the decking is inspected, the underlayment goes down, flashing is handled properly, and the new roofing system starts coming together.

Big roof, steep pitch, and a lot of work that has to be done right.
