One leaking dormer revealed a bigger problem.

The standing seam metal was cracked, bent, and poorly tied into the shingles, allowing water to get in around the left dormer. Since both dormers were in similar condition, we removed the existing metal, installed new ice and water barrier, and replaced the metal with shingles tied into the existing roof. We also finished everything with new ridge cap shingles.

This gave the dormers a cleaner look and, more importantly, a much better defense against future leaks.
