We’ve been quite busy over the past couple of weeks! We received an urgent call to repair a leaking bushing on a 12,470v transformer located on the secondary side. Our crew had to drain the oil to reseal several bushings on the 4160v side of the unit. This transformer was of utmost importance as it powered an 8400hp motor for a recycling facility. Fortunately, the customer is now back online and operational.

There were quite a few other issues that had to be addressed and we got to work with our friends with Hamer Electric Inc. it’s always a pleasure working with them. Also a few other contractors, this job was very important to get completed and the customer operational.

Our team recently spent several days on board the USCG vessel USS Healy, where we successfully completed repairs to 12 of the ship's step-down transformers that power the propulsion system. We were honored to have been given the opportunity to board and learn about the USS Healy, meeting many of the Officers, Crew and Contractors aboard, and to have played a part in returning the USCG to its next adventure.

Working in Central California, our team is removing leaking and failed bushings and installing new 69kv bushings on a transformer. This service includes TTR, megger and winding resistance testing on the unit. We perform hot oil degas filtration once the unit is brought back online to minimize downtime and maintain production continuity.
