So very excited to announce Iā€™m teaming up with blooms4good AGAIN to do a fundraiser for my little brotherā€™s memorial fund at the Orange Street Festival on Saturday, Sept. 5.

Every penny you spend on blooms will be donated directly to Michael's Gift - last year we raised over $1,400! These funds support Orange County parents who need extra help paying for their kidsā€™ extracurricular activities, sports equipment, registration fees, musical instruments, camps and more.

Saturday, Sept. 5: 10am-4pm in Downtown Orange Katherine Ridgeway Fahey and I hope to see you there! And p.s. today is Little Michaelā€™s birthday. šŸ’•

I made this piece during my COVID furlough, shortly after George Floydā€™s murder, when I was reflecting a lot on the inequities that persist in this country. Iā€™d started doing flower art (I call it ā€œflartā€). Iā€™ve never shared this piece publicly before. Itā€™s meant to represent a biracial coupleā€™s marriage ā€” the colors of America represented in the tree, protecting the happily married, very in love couple.

This is just my own creative expression, and I hope it makes you feel something. If it lands wrong for anyone, that wasnā€™t my intent. Hope youā€™re all finding some time to reflect on this Juneteenth.ā¤ļøšŸ–¤šŸ’š
