🌀 10/10/26 1 AM Update: Isaias has been downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone with max sustained winds of 65 mph as it begins to exit the local area. The storm has left significant damage in its wake, especially due to flash flooding and high winds.
🌧 Some residual flooding is likely ongoing over areas that saw upwards of 6-12 inches over a short period earlier, as water needs some time to recede. Remember, turn around, don't drown!
💨 Destructive wind gusts of 80-120 mph occurred over a swath extending from the Pensacola/Navarre area northward in association with a rare "sting jet" or wake low feature on the western edge of the rain shield. Widespread damage and power outages have been reported across the area (e.g., 100% of Conecuh County is without power). This was a remarkable and unusual event, as the highest wind gusts over the area occurred well away from the core of the hurricane and extended well inland.
