I love a color drench - walls, ceilings, doors, and trim all one color! The problem is the industry is pushing for a different sheen and product on the walls vs ceiling. This is not a true color drench, the finish change on the ceiling can actually be distracting. So do it, be bold, but walls and ceilings one color, one product, one sheen - a washable flat. But yes, still pop those trim and doors with a satin for more durability.
If you have white walls, yes, white ceilings. All one colors and sheen right?! ⬅️ But a white can do quite the opposite and bring the ceiling down. So lift the ceiling with a color cap, make the space flow with a color drench, or do a subtle lighter color than the wall (pick the lighter color off the color swatch). Ask me how, we can help!
Yes, use AI for inspo pics but don’t blindly pick colors without sampling. Or popping into a paint store and ask us how to bring a color you like online to your space!
Speaking of sampling, do it! But don’t paint mulitple swatches on the wall. It confuses the eye when you compare them to one another. If you want to be successful in picking a color, isolate the color and do the sample big enough in the space next to something that is staying (trim, cabinets, etc). Then sit with it for a day or too in all the different lights.
Don’t take your paint color and ask the paint store to cut the formula to be lighter or darker. Benjamin Moore has already done this for you - it’s called a color swatch! This helps you in the future with touch up and reformulations. And if you have the swatch in hand, there are no surprises like there are if you mess with the formula.
