Working on a tight timeline!
After several days of hard work and preparation, we were finally ready to pour half of the footings for this large, two-story home! It took three concrete trucks to get the job done. Since we couldn’t get the trucks close enough to the footings, we put one of our skid steers to work, moving the concrete where it needed to go.

Rain destroys footings if they are not poured ahead of it. The footings needed to be inspected and poured before the hurricane moved in, so we worked hard to stay on schedule and get the concrete placed before the hurricane.

I love it when a plane comes together!

Well, at least it’s not 100°!
Today we are working on the foundation of a large two-story house. The lot has a considerable amount of slope, more than 6 feet difference between the corners of the house itself. There are a lot of steps to this project. It’s very important to triple check as we go to ensure the end result is an accurate flat square slab. Today we’re just going to focus on laying everything out in the air  at a level elevation and up and down on the ground.

In order to reduce the incline of the ground for a playing field or such, retaining walls can be very helpful. Retaining walls under 2 foot tall do not require permits or engineering. Several layers can be added to achieve desired elevation. If the thought interest you please call 850-510-9283 and let us come out and help you come up with a plan to flatten the ground.

What made this job challenging was all of the lime rocks underneath the surface. In order to have a solid structure, the rock had to be removed and the area had to be backfilled with clean fill, and compacted in intervals before the new holes could be dug and the post could be set. One of my customers needed forklift access to a couple of his warehouses. We notched out the Asphalt so we could get a true 8 inches all the way through enabling them to drive semi trucks and heavy loads on it if necessary.
