The Langham Boston is currently undergoing an extensive renovation of its AAA Four Diamond hotel, located in a national architectural landmark that was once the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, to reposition the property as “one of the top iconic luxury hotels in the country”. This extensive project includes a complete transformation of all guest rooms, event spaces, the addition of a new club lounge, and a new bar and restaurant.

Shawmut Design and Construction was selected to provide construction management services for the project, and Millwork One Inc. was selected to provide the millwork designed by Richmond International in collaboration with Dyer Brown Architects.

The scope of the renovation includes a luxurious new lobby, decorated in jewel tones, with a cozy fireplace, ample seating, and high-design concierge area and check-in desk, new Club Lounge, update to The Governor’s Room, The new Lincoln Ballroom, a brand new destination bar with an outdoor terrace & an innovative restaurant concept.

Millwork One is very proud to be part of this prestigious project and to have the opportunity to produce work for one of the most luxurious hotels in Boston.

Harvard Klarman Hall is an architectural masterpiece in which we are honored to be recognized for our contribution with another AWI Award of Excellence.

Designed by Architectural Firm Williams Rawn Associates, and built by longtime Boston staple Walsh Brothers Construction, this 120,000-square-foot, 1000-seat convening space is decorated by wall to wall and floor to ceiling millwork.

We are proud to be a part this the world class project team delivering an extraordinary convening space for Harvard Business School where the worlds current and future leaders will meet to help shape the world around us.

Boston Garden Expansion

CURBED Boston called it "The ginormous project next to the TD Garden".

Delaware North, a global leader in hospitality and the owner and operator of TD Garden, along with partner Boston Properties, has a massive expansion of the 23-year-old arena taking place over the next two years. The original site of the Boston Garden is now home to The Hub on Causeway, serving as the new front door to TD Garden and providing a historic opportunity for the arena expansion and re-imagination of spaces and amenities.

John Moriarty and Associates was selected to provide construction management services for most of the multi package expansion which includes a Hotel tower, Residential tower and Office component. Solomon Cordwell Buenz was hired as the design firm for the residential tower and Millwork One Inc. was selected to provide the architectural woodwork in the amenities spaces. Millwork One Inc. was also selected to provide the woodwork designed by IA Interior Architects for the first tenant in the office tower, Rapid 7, a cyber-security firm occupying four floors.

Bain & Company – Boston Corporate Headquarters.

Bain & Company is a leading global management consulting firm headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. Bain's Boston office serves as the corporate headquarters and is the oldest and largest of Bain's offices. It has played an integral role in transforming Bain into one of the world's leading management consulting firms.

Structure Tone, having just celebrated their 30th anniversary, was selected to oversee construction of four floors of Bain’s corporate headquarters on Dartmouth Street. The architectural firm Fusion Design Consultants Inc. was selected to provide the interior design. The project is fast track, and the team awarded the interior finishes to Millwork One Inc., Boston’s elite TI improvements architectural woodworking firm.

The project consists of reclaimed & re-sawn timber wall panels that line the corridors and conference rooms. Wood paneling with copper accents adorn the elevator lobby walls. Boomerang shaped wood benches set on finished wood gathering platforms are a key feature in the design; all manufactured and installed turn-key by M1. A marble clad reception desk shows off our partnership with our high end stone fabricators. When completed, it will be a superior space we will all be proud of.

North Shore Medical Center – Salem Hospital

For 100 years, NSMC has been a lifeline for Salem area residents. Now, it begins a $200 million expansion, consolidating campuses and taking local healthcare into the 21st century. Walsh Brothers Construction and Shepley Bulfinch Architects have collaborated to consolidate its hospital-based medical, surgical, and behavioral health services on its Salem Hospital campus. The project will include new construction of an Emergency Department, two medical-surgical floors that contain 48 private patient rooms. Renovation work includes 120 behavioral health beds for pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. The architectural woodwork package includes intricate architectural wall systems, solid surface clad support staff desks and various other millwork elements and cabinetry furnished and installed by Millwork One Inc.
The 118,000 square foot expansion and 123,000 square foot renovation of an adjacent hospital building will deliver patient-centered care, expand access to community-based care, and maximize connectivity to enhance overall health and wellness. Millwork One’s decades long successful history with Walsh Brothers, Shepley Bulfinch and Partners Health Care helped secure the award. The project is slated to complete in 2019

Boston College Recreational Center
Boston College’s much-anticipated $200 million recreation center will be named in honor of the Connell family, in recognition of a $50 million “Light the World” campaign gift from BC Trustee Associate Margot C. Connell.

Construction of the 244,000 square-foot, four-story facility is part of the 10 year $800 million master plan which supports the university’s strategic plan to replace the Flynn Recreation Complex. The new innovative rec center is underway at the former site of Edmond’s Hall on Thomas More Road. Spearheaded by Construction Manager Skanska USA and Cannon Design with the architectural woodwork manufactured and installed by Millwork One Inc. It will include a state-of-the-art fitness center, jogging track, natatorium with lap and instructional pools, four wood-floor basketball courts, three tennis courts, two multi-activity courts and multi-purpose rooms for spin, yoga and fitness classes, among other amenities. The building will open in the summer of 2019

AWI Award of Excellence - Williams College

The transformation and integration of Stetson Hall Circa 1920, into the new innovative Sawyer Library at Williams College, is nothing short of breathtaking. The magnitude and innovation that went into the substantial architectural woodwork package is such that the Architectural community has bestowed the prestigious "AWI Award of Excellence" on Millwork One Inc. for the woodwork.

Long runs of study corrals, benches and storage, integrated into curved and articulating slab edge baffles, is an engineering marvel. Close collaboration between Bohlyn Cywinski Jackson Architects, Consigli Construction Co., Inc. and Millwork One's project management and engineering team was required to finalize constructability and installation methods for the massive baffles being installed on the slab edges of the 2nd through the 4th floors in the atrium. Other woodwork elements include multiple built in benches, wall paneling, curved stair rails and desks.

Thanks to the efforts of all team members the project achieved LEED NC 2009 Gold. The project was completed in the fourth quarter of 2014 and the award was granted this year in 2017.

Harvard Lowell House

Because of the foresight shown by Edward Waldo Forbes, grandson of Ralph Waldo Emerson, land acquired by the "Riverside Associates" (Which he founded in 1903 and later became known as the "Harvard Riverside Trustees"), the River House concept, which included Lowell House, was born. Lowell House, named after the 22nd president of Harvard "Abbott Lawrence Lowell", was built in 1930 and is the largest of the river houses.

The team of Consigli Construction Co., Inc. & Kieran Timberlake Architecture, once again selected Millwork One Inc. to manufacture the architectural woodwork in the building. Although not only having successfully completed the prior four river house projects (Old Quincy, McKinlock-Leverett House, Dunster & Winthrop) competitive pricing, teamed with our superior quality and prior performance were also factors considered in the award.

Rift white oak dominates with benches, paneling, trim and a host of custom built-in woodwork items; again showcasing our engineering and production capabilities. The new architectural woodwork has been carefully designed to keep the flavor of George Coolidge of Shepley, Rutan Coolidge the original architects. The project is slated to be completed in spring of 2019.

Lovejoy Wharf – 131 Beverly Street

Spearheaded by Related Beal, LLC, and co designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects and Stantec, construction of 131 Beverly at Lovejoy Wharf will yield 175 condominiums for sale totaling 210,000-square feet of residential living. Located where Boston's Harborwalk will connect to the Freedom Trail, the building constitutes a gateway to the city from the north over the Bunker Hill Bridge.
Consigli Construction Co., Inc. was selected to provide General Contracting services and selected Millwork One Inc. to fabricate and install; as well as provide design assist to meet a demanding budget and fast track schedule. The first two floors are to be occupied by retail, restaurant, facility and public-use spaces lined with architectural millwork elements such as Mahogany and Rift White Oak wall paneling with metal reveals and corners, wood and metal portals and other complex millwork elements. The upper floor amenity spaces will also yield millwork elements with complex detail to compliment the high end spaces throughout. The roof of the pavilion structure will be an open terrace for anyone to enjoy unique views of the North Washington Street Bridge, Leonard P. Zakim Bridge and the Charles River.

We are very proud at Millwork One Inc. to support the Amos House charity in Providence, Rhode Island.

To kick off our support initiative, this week our very own Grant Caldwell & Bruce Adams spent the day preparing and serving lunch to over 400 of Providence's people in need.

Amos House is a leading social service agency in Rhode Island, managing the largest soup kitchen in the state, providing social services to over 15,000 people a year and housing nearly 165 men, women and children a night. More than 500 adults have graduated from its training programs including many that work as professional carpenters in the construction industry today.

Completed: UConn Health Inpatient Tower

Millwork One Inc. adds another exceptional hospital to its resume of completed projects. UConn's new John Dempsey Patient Care Tower project, with Turner Construction Company and Stefian Bradley Architects, boasts a $6.3M architectural millwork package; with a total construction cost of $318M. The new 380,000 SQFT tower includes eleven levels with 169 patient rooms, each with cabinetry and custom FRL headwalls throughout. The state of the art emergency department and surgery suite include a solid surface wall cladding system. The 30 + custom nurses’ stations, support staff desks, greeter stations and nursing pods are clad in solid surface, with stainless steel bases. The custom millwork paneling overhead of these units are sound absorptive, to curb ambient noise. The project included extensive cherry laminate wall paneling systems throughout the space, bringing a high-end feel to the project.

Mathworks - Lakeside Campus

Mathworks, a leading developer of mathematical computing software, recently acquired the new Lakeside Campus (formerly Boston Scientific) in Natick MA. The project involves the removal of existing buildings & working with the previously permitted parking structure for the development of a completely new campus that is comprised of two new office buildings, an amenities building and fitness center; totaling 550,000 SQFT.

The project team of Consigli Construction and Gensler Architects have awarded the architectural woodwork package to Millwork One Inc. The buildings will include 1,800 individual offices, plus conference rooms, collaboration hubs, gym and athletic spaces, kitchen, servery and dining areas with ample architectural woodwork compliments throughout. Vintage Oak, Hickory and Gloss lacquered paneling, portals, built-in benches all with integral decorative metals and a spectacular radius monumental millwork and solid surface clad stair feature are just a few. Millwork One is thrilled to have been selected for another Mathworks project. After recently completing two other campus', one of which was selected as the AWI Award of Excellence project and featured on the cover of Design Solutions spring 2016 edition
