Snow coming this weekend. Anywhere from 1”-36” per the forecasts 🤦🏻♂️
Knowing this, South County Post & Beam is still on-site installing SIPs panels at 4:45p. They don’t have to be there. However, going the extra mile is what this project is all about
Thank you 🙏

As a Design/Build firm, an essential part of the actual design process is the ability to accurately convey the design intent to your client. Virtual renderings do not only aid in the pre-construction pricing process but they also help to control the project's budget as all team members are able to understand the desired finished product.
An example of such is a recently completed exterior renovation for our client, Centrex Distributors in West Greenwich, Rhode Island. We replaced an existing, dated and leaking, EIFS and window system with a new, modern metal panel design and energy efficient windows. Special thanks to Ed Wojcik Architect Ltd. and our construction teams.

Yet in addition to those struggles we do it while grieving the loss of our Maddie Grace, her best friend Hallie Linacre , and still, our Foundation Treasurer, friend and “go to guy for ALL things Foundation,” Keith Frost 🥺.
How do we do it? We do it TOGETHER 💞.
Top 11 other things you should know…
1. EVERY PENNY raised goes straight back to students, communities and other nonprofits.
2. Our BOARD is 100% VOLUNTEERS
3. Our only expenses are postage, occasional printing, buying our merchandise and our website fee. WE DO EVERYTHING OURSELVES in order to donate every penny back.
4. Could our website be better? Our mailings fancier? Our events more streamlined? Could we pay for things to make it easier on all of us? Absolutely! Everyone works their butts off for this! But we haven’t been able to justify those expenses until our original goals are completed.
5. My family and our board members even PAY for our own Maddie Merchandise. Even though I try not to let them, because they give and give and give in every way, they always find a way.
6. The FIRST thing we will pay for after Maddie’s Field House is complete is a WEBSITE DESIGNER! 🙃
7. A large part of our Field House expenses is obtaining 450 feet of access to a septic system and similar amounts to obtain water access.
8. D’ambra Construction, Richmond Sand and Stone, RI Ready Mix, Labonte landscaping, South County Post and Beam, Pare and Phalanx Engineering, Bradford Standing Seam Roofing , Advantage Glass, Commercial Painting, Wonderwall Construction, GT3 Creative, Riverhead Building Supply and E. Turgeon Construction Corporation have cut or donated so many costs we are so thankful for!
9. Richmond Town Council has voted to refund most of our $5120 in building permits! 🙌🏻 Thank you!!!!!!!
10. Don’t worry!! This building will be complete, even if we have to find ways to fund it more ourselves. But each donation of any amount does help lessen a bit of that stress.
11. If everyone that follows Maddie’s story donated/mailed .11 cents to PO BOX 539, Hope Valley RI 02832, and then had all of their friends do the same, we could entirely fund this field house 😱. Then we could expand on our next goals of
***expanding our scholarships outside of Chariho
***continuing to offset funeral costs of children taken as acutely from their families as Maddie, Hallie and even Keith were from all of us 😭
***increase on donations we’ve already made to Hasbro Children’s hospital
***focus more efforts to 💔
Because up until this point we have chosen to focus on how Maddie lived her life, not how she died 😓. Yet we’ve been “given” a platform to help many, so that’s exactly what we will continue to do, in “All Ways Maddie” 💙
Thanks in Advance. Please copy and paste in order to share 💞
What a spectacular community accomplishment 💪🏼💙 Thanks David Ducharme and E. Turgeon Construction Corporation !
I'll do my best to explain, however, remember that I practice medicine👩⚕️, not construction👷♀️ 🙃.
Bottom line - we had to move the building approximately 5-8 ft from the original plan. There was an old unknown drainage structure ( that Chariho wasn't even aware of) in the way of building that we could not alter or build on.
Moving the building caused it to then be in the way of the original power grid/electric to the fields etc, which then involved National Grid approval 😩. So designs had to go back to structural and civil engineers ( now I know why there are so many types of engineers!) and architectural.
As you can imagine, none of the above is a quick fix, particularly "post" pandemic and in the heat of construction season 🤦♀️.
THE GOOD NEWS! - We have DEM approval 🙌 and awaiting 1 final permit approval ( from the town but don't quote me on that?).
Our Building Committee/Construction Team ( seen at top of my screenshots below) has worked tirelessly to keep this moving forward, though we are all aware of the significant delay in our original timeline of it being DONE by start of school. They are now actively working and reconfiguring entrances to avoid as much disruption possible to traffic/sports etc.
I'm asking for your continued patience with all of the above. Please Please know how much we are aware this is an entire community effort that has gotten us to this point and we could have never done any of it without you!!
Despite the delays which I know are frustrating, believe me, lets remember why we are here. Because our daughter dedicated most of her time on the field next to the field house, and ultimately left her soul there as well. She left a mark in her loss, but more importantly, throughout her life. NONE OF THIS WOULD BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT MADDIE pushing us all forward, raising all that we have to DONATE a 3000 sq ft building to the Chariho Regional School District and Chariho Chargers Athletics in her honor.
Thank you ALL for your continued support! Especially David Ducharme E. Turgeon Construction Corporation , Frank Karpowicz Architects, Al Dibiasio Engineering, Gordon Preiss, and South County Post & Beam !
The love and support of this community will continue on April 11th with the ground breaking ceremony of The Maddie Potts Memorial Field House at the Chariho High School Athletic Stadium.
Maddie’s teammates, her coach, mother, and E. Turgeon Construction Corporation share their thoughts on the momentous occasion.
