We didn’t build this fence…
And we surely wouldn’t have built it like this if we did.

Take a look...the horizontal 2x4 was too short to reach the post. So instead of getting a longer 2x4, someone “scabbed” on an extra piece of wood just to make it reach. Why? Because they know the homeowner will probably never see it 🤦🏻‍♂️

Let’s be clear:

-Because the bottom of a fence is the first place moisture, dirt, and rot try to do damage.

❓What’s The Purpose❓
-A pressure-treated mud board sits between the ground and your fence boards.
-It keeps the board out of constant ground contact, helping protect it from moisture and extending the life of your fence.

❓What Else Do They Do❓
-Mud boards also solve another common problem most yards have…the dreaded uneven ground.
-Instead of the fence top flowing with the up & down of the topography like a roller coaster, the mud board allows the top of the fence to stay smoother and flowing, while what's seen of the mud board adjusts from larger to smaller exposure.
