Want to ❤️ to all our calf cuddle customers this week. You have redeemed my faith in humanity 🤣

Yes, as a small farm calf cuddles is a revenue stream, but more importantly it connects with our farm mission of connecting people to our farm and local farming in general.

I have loved all the questions, both thoughtful like "how can you eat animals you raise?" To the lighthearted "who gets to name the animals?" .

The truth is we are 🤏 big of a farm, but there's also not a lot of food production farms here. We've had people come who have never seen a cow or a calf in real life. We appreciate the opportunity to talk to y'all about what our life is like and answer all your questions about what we are doing here. And most of all we feel honored when you choose our products for your table, which in the race of summer is something that's easy to lose sight of.

So we look forward to meeting you and feeding you! We have seasonal produce, milk fed pork, cuts of our "backyard beef" and soap. Pick up is on farm, at Community Roots Farmers Market or fisherman's memorial or you can order through market mobile. Delivery options available for large orders and we are still on the hunt for food hubs for the post market season.

Calf cuddles are still available, but only for the next few weeks.

In honor of National Farmers Market Week, we wanted to give a big shoutout to one of our many farmers who, alongside her family, goes above and beyond providing locally grown food across the state of Rhode Island. That farmer is Stacie Nichols from Serendipity Farm RI in Coventry!

Stacie started off as a homesteader who realized that she wanted to gain experience farming for others, striving to “connect people with their food, the environment, and each other” through high-quality pasture-raised meat and produce. Since the establishment of her farm in 2021, Stacie and her family have been successfully selling their products and educating others around the state about the many realities of farming.

Stacie believes that being a first-generation farmer is challenging, especially in Rhode Island, where farmland is particularly expensive. However, her ability to multitask, manage sustainable practices, and maintain her optimistic attitude has allowed her to develop a community and gain confidence in her abilities.

As a woman in agriculture, Stacie encourages girls who want to get involved to start small with the help of a mentor and build relationships. She says that it isn’t realistic to get everything done in one day on a farm, so there’s always work that needs to be done, and “there’s never a boy job; they’re just jobs.”

Serendipity Farm offers many opportunities for the public to visit the farm, such as their “Meet Your Meat” program, canning classes, calf cuddles, and more! It's market day!!!!!

Garlic scapes, peas, micro greens, salad greens, eggs, breads, sweets, meats, soaps, lotions... I could go on. All made/grown/baked right here in Coventry.

For everyone saying "where is this???" The market is every Saturday 2-4p at TLC Mini Storage & Landscaping Services on nooseneck hill road. I'm sure you've driven by this building 80000000 times and thought "wow that's an adorable building, I wonder what's in there?"

Well now's your chance. In addition to the world's cutest cat, there's honey, syrup, jams, quality animal feeds and just about anything you could need for landscaping/gardening.

We also have a giant flag and sign for the market 🤣
