Shame on you STIHL Inc. the First step to getting people to switch to battery equipment should be making it work and feel like gas equipment that we’ve been using for years . I’ve had this stihl battery kombi for over a year now , I really want to use it more . For hedge trimming the battery life is good, unfortunately for string trimming it’s not realistic but that’s not even my biggest issue. The gas powered km94 is such a great balanced unit that is built well, I’ve had several and the one I use daily is from 2015 !why wouldn’t you design the electric version with the same balance , look how the handles triggers don’t line up and how the battery is mounted way back on the unit , yes this is heavy but you could have balanced it much better… who are these engineers?! Move the battery to middle ! STIHL Inc. get me on your engineering team ! You won’t be disappointed. It’s a nice tool but so much room for easy improvement. Also who is actually using battery trimmers all day ? Hit me up if you are . I’ve tried several brands and the battery life isn’t even close , I’m wondering what kind of use are they getting . I know lately I’ve been posting about my love for selective pruning , however I do enjoy some formal sheared hedges . This week I pruned, weeded the beds (my wife did) RessayMarie Medeiros and mulched this property, it’s a favorite of mine because it packs a lot into a small space. These yews have taken me a few years to get into the shape I like . It’s Always a work in progress (don’t mind the burn spots from a chlorine spill, it wasn’t me lol)

While it can be a challenge to grow a nice lawn in dense shade there are some things you can do to help. in my experience , first choose the right type of cultivar (fine fescues seem to do better) second , get a good watering schedule be careful not to overwater, the shade areas are prone to moss and lawns can stay wet longer , that can make it more susceptible to fungus. Third , get a good fertilizer program and work on soil health, this lawn is treated by the great people GreenerEase Chad and his crew are some of the best around . Lastly and in my experience one of the most noticeable differences is hight of cut. Heavy shaded areas do best when you mow tall , it makes sense if you think of the blades of grass like little solar panels , they are already starving for sunlight . If you make them even smaller that’s less surface area they have to capture light.
