BUDZNYA RUNS HIS GROOVE TO FIRST SPORT 4 WIN OF THE YEAR
SEEKONK, Mass. — Jacob Budzyna jumped out front from the outside pole, then held his groove over the 25-lap Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Sport 4 feature on Friday at Seekonk Speedway, capturing his first win of the season.
The Story: Rookie contender Anthony Mancini started from the pole, but it was Budzyna who quickly took control in turn one. Once he did, the driver of the No. 01 glued his car on the bottom of the race track and made it clear no one was going to pass him on the low side. Samantha Sleboda raced through the traffic and found herself second, knocking on the door for much of the race. Arthur Meack, a multiple-time winner this season, even tried his chances. In the end, it was Budzyna taking down his second career win and first of the season, locking his way into the Sport 4 Triple Crown finale.
The Top Finishers: Sleboda finished second, with former champion Dave Westgate third. Meack and Daniel Hayes finished the top-five.
The Sport 4s will be back on the track on Friday, July 17, for another showdown at Seekonk Speedway.
