One of our sweet clients sent some pics of their window seat cushion we recovered awhile back.

Blue denim for upholstery or slipcovers is always a great choice! It can be paired with any color and style just like a pair of Levi jeans.

Since this new cover had to be fitted over previously tufted seat foam, the best option was to mimic the button tufting on the new cover.

Discovering there are multiple layers to strip is an UGHH moment for upholsterers.

But I think there is a redeeming factor in discovering the timeless fabrics hidden beneath the surface. It tells a beautiful story that makes the extra work all worth it!

~About Canvas/Cotton Duck for Custom Slipcovers~

Client provided a lighter weight 8oz cotton canvas that was prewashed to avoid shrinkage when laundered.

Although a 10oz prewashed canvas is recommended, this lighter weight had a tighter weave that made it doable.

Need custom washable slipcovers for your lifestyle? Consider the following when buying your own fabric:

8oz - light weight
●Recommended with limited or well managed volume of child/pet traffic

10oz - medium weight
●Recommended for normal volume of child/pet traffic

12oz - heavy weight
●Recommended for heavy volume of child/LARGE pet traffic

14oz - heavy weight
●Not suitable for slipcovers

It was challenging to reupholster this chair AND ottoman when given only remnants of velvet to make it happen. But thankfully it turned out great!!

This GORGEOUS custom roman shade has been restrung and restored with new rings, pully, and a lighter weight dowel.

The wallpaper design is repeated in the custom bedding and trim on the shade.
