Most roofs do not fail overnight. They give you signs first, and if you catch them early you can often repair instead of replace. Here are five worth a two-minute look this week, especially after the spring storms that rolled through the Valley.
Shingles that are curling, cupping, or missing.
Granules collecting in your gutters and at the base of the downspouts. That sandy grit is the shingle surface wearing away.
Daylight coming through the attic, or dark stains on the underside of the roof deck.
A roofline that looks like it is sagging or dipping instead of running straight.
Water spots showing up on ceilings or upstairs walls.
One sign on its own is not always an emergency. Two or three together usually means it is worth having someone look before the next round of summer storms.
If you spot any of these on your place in Cortland, Canfield, Boardman, or anywhere across Mahoning and Trumbull counties, we are glad to come out and give you a straight answer on whether it is a repair or a full replacement. No pressure and no scare tactics, just an honest read on your roof.
