We’re sharing this from our friends at Fat Matt’s Roofing in Abilene because it’s an important conversation that needs more attention!!
If a roofing company offers to “cover your deductible,” that’s insurance fraud—plain and simple.
It happens more than it should, even here in our community. And when it does, homeowners are the ones who can end up paying the price.
Cut corners, denied claims, legal issues—it’s not worth it.
At Tejas Roofing & Gutters, we do things the right way. No shortcuts. No gimmicks. Just honest work you can trust.
Know the difference. Protect your home.
🚨 UNPOPULAR OPINION (but it needs to be said)…
If a roofer offers to “cover your deductible”… you should RUN. 🏃♂️💨
Yeah, I know… half of Facebook is about to argue with this one.
“But why would I pay my deductible if I don’t have to?”
Because in Texas… that’s insurance fraud. Plain and simple. 👀
And here’s what most homeowners don’t realize:
👉 If a company is willing to play games with your deductible…
👉 What corners are they cutting on your ROOF?
Cheaper materials?
Skipping steps?
Uninsured crews?
Nobody’s eating that deductible out of kindness… they’re making it up somewhere.
And guess who pays for it later?
(💧 leaks, 💨 blow-offs, denied warranties…)
Now don’t get it twisted — I get WHY people are tempted.
Roofs are expensive, and nobody wants to pay that deductible.
But there’s a difference between saving money… and putting yourself in a bad spot legally AND structurally.
💬 So let’s settle this:
Would you take a “free deductible” if it saved you thousands…
—or is that a red flag you’d never risk?
No middle ground on this one. Let’s hear it 👇
