Change the direction of your ceiling fans. Fans should be changed twice a year to increase energy efficiency, putting less strain on your heating and cooling systems. Running a ceiling fan properly in the winter can help you save up to 10% on your heating bill.

You want your ceiling fan to rotate counterclockwise in the summer, pushing cool air down. Counter clockwise in the winter. On most fans, you can change the rotation using the directional switch on the motor—typically by turning the switch down. To get the clockwise rotation in winter, just reverse the switch.

Furnace and HVAC
Get your furnace and ductwork serviced. A clean system will be more energy efficient, and an inspection will alert you to problems. Check and replace air filters, as necessary. Test your thermostat to make sure it works properly. Make sure heating vents are open and nothing is blocking them.

Before and after
In this space the updates include a new custom fireplace, new light fixture,  recessed lighting, stained the hardwood floors, paint and we finished the space with crown molding. Now this tired old space looks fresh and bright!

Happy Monday!

We had so much fun helping this family updated and add storage to their kitchen.

What we did is create more space in the pantry by changing the shelving, putting lights in and updated the door to barn door.

Changed the countertops to butcher blocks, and updated the backsplash and put in farmhouse sink.
