We are living longer than ever—but are our homes, healthcare environments, and communities prepared to support us?
In my latest article for Global Woman Magazine, “The Silver Tsunami—Are We Designing for It?” I explore one of the most important global challenges of our time.
By 2050, the number of people aged 60 and older is expected to reach 2.11 billion worldwide. At the same time, the world is facing a growing shortage of healthcare professionals and caregivers.
Design cannot replace human care—but thoughtful design can reduce unnecessary dependence, support caregivers, prevent injuries, and help people maintain their dignity and independence.
This is not simply about adding grab bars. It is about creating environments that preserve identity, connection, confidence, purpose, and joy throughout every stage of life.
We have successfully added years to life. Now we must become equally intentional about adding life to those years.
