Hello Copper River Mariners. I apologize for the press blackout while I try to figure out a slight crisis. In April Avenza announced with no notice that they are ceasing to accept new maps to the map store. We are working to come up with a new solution for distributing our maps for the 2027 season. In the mean time I am providing PDF maps for 2026 free of charge as we transition. These PDF maps can still be imported into Avenza if you pay the $35 for their "Plus" account. Go here to download:

Big news! I’m excited to share that I am now a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS).

With this milestone, Pinnacle Geo is expanding its services to include land surveying, offering subdivision surveys, as-builts, and related services throughout the entire Prince William Sound region.

We will also continue providing the fishing map products that you all know and love.

For the ice skaters out there, we got lucky a few days ago with a great satellite image of Sheridan Lake right after it froze solid. It looks a little tricky navigating the icebergs to get to the clear ice. I've made a map that's available on Avenza for free. Happy skating!

Yesterday's high water event, measured at 16.95 ft was the 5th highest ever recorded by the Cordova tide gauge and the highest since 2005. The "highest astronomical tide" level in Cordova is 16.17 ft. This is the highest possible tide level Cordova can experience purely from effects of the sun and moon and is the highest level you will see in the tide book. Yesterday's predicted high tide was 16.16 ft, so it was nearly the highest tide we can ever see. On top of it was a 0.8 ft storm surge which added up to the extraordinarily high water level measured by the tide gauge.
