lucky to have access to high quality flowers from Pacific Northwest farmers 🌸 they made for beautiful market bouquets for Mother’s Day while we patiently 🙃 wait for our spring flowers to bloom in this little temperate coastal rainforest corner of Alaska 🌧️

🌷early April marked the last indoor tulip harvest for my winter growing season ✨ It was a fun array of fringe and impression tulips that went out to Winter Tulip Club members ❄️ the last of the hydroponic daffodils and a few final final indoor tulips then adorned tables at last weekend’s Dress to Kill fundraiser event for a local youth adventure summer camp 🏕️

what’s next? we wait and see what our coastal rainforest spring looks like in this corner of Alaska. Last fall I planted many tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, alliums, and other spring flowers that are starting to peak out of the ground. I can’t wait to start building spring bouquets 🌸

these few weeks between indoor and outdoor flowers have been a bit of a break to catch my breath in some ways and somehow still stay busy: lily crates need consistent watering, dahlias are pre sprouting, ranunculus are growing, seeds being started, spreadsheets built, growing numbers analyzed, and orders placed.

And with Mother’s Day just around the corner, the planning and prep continues! It’s the last weekend to place your Mother’s Day order so if you’re looking for specialty blooms here’s your chance 💐✨🌸

it’s finally happening- I’m apprehensively dipping my toes into dahlia world!

did I tell myself no commercial flower growing this summer - yes. because year round flower growing is a bit cray for a one person side hustle - yes. did the absolute beauty of dahlias and slight addiction to growing new flowers overcome any other feelings/reasoning - yes.

📦 the cost of shipping these dahlias was going to be double the cost of the actual dahlias (Alaska problems) - so instead I shipped them to my parents who kindly repackaged and shipped at a fraction of the price.
Any small business knows that these considerations although time consuming to figure out on a case by case basis really make a difference.

so here we are - I’m going to try my hand at dahlias this season. And you should too! Shop is open tomorrow 5-7 with high quality dahlia tubers for sale. 🌸

heard on-bulb flower bouquets are trending❣️
as a winter (mostly) hydro flower farmer healthy roots are so important and I’m happy to show them off. first round of hydro daffs are ready to add some cheer to these March snow showers!
🚩shop will be open this week - day/time coming soon! just waiting on shipping information on some new spring shop goodies and then will provide an update. and it’ll be worth the wait 🌱

that was certainly the wildest Valentine’s Day yet and a really fun full week prior with flowers for several community events❣️ I’m so grateful for the opportunity to grow and share flowers for these special moments✨

so much labor goes into these blooms, but they’re so worth it. thank you for seeing this hard work and supporting it! I’m already looking forward to VDay 2027- improving and continuing to dial in what works.

what’s next? hydroponic daffodils are growing; soaking and starting ranunculus corms; and then planting lilies for Mother’s Day. March’s shop popup will be centered on the Spring Equinox ~ more blooms then❣️🌷

Come and get your Cordova grown tulips! Shop is open Friday (4-7pm) and Saturday (10am-2pm) and is overflowing with flowers! We'll have grab and go bouquets, flowering plants, and pre-orders will be ready to pick up. Or bring a mason jar and build your own mini arrangement! See you soon!
