We are thrilled to announce that Array Architects has been named the “Hospitals – Psychiatric” category winner of the twelfth annual IIDA Healthcare Design Awards! The award honors and celebrates Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters’ Children’s Pavilion for outstanding originality and excellence in the design and furnishings of healthcare interior spaces.

It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of Douglas C. Lindsay, one of the founders of Array Architects.
Doug is a large part of the reason our firm exists today. Not only was Doug a talented architect, but he was also a mentor to many. He was passionate about the impact of healthcare design, was both creative and meticulous about Array’s projects, and motivated to design for optimal hospital processes and operations. Doug’s legacy lives on in the thinking he inspired – truly the core mission of our firm – always focusing design on both form and function, grounding us in holistic thinking to provide not only the best, but remarkable solutions for our healthcare clients.
Doug was a great friend and a lot of fun. He will be remembered for his passion and commitment, always giving 110 percent to professional efforts, hobbies, and interests. Doug excelled at everything he did. He was an avid cyclist, golfer, and gardener and a loving husband to his wife Julie.
The difference Doug has made in the lives of patients, staff, and our firm will not be forgotten.

Children’s Pavilion At Children’s Hospital Of The King’s Daughters’ features an eye-catching art installation in the atrium. Hanging from the ceiling is Ann Gardner’s “A New Day.” The artwork comprises a series of multicolored glass shapes hanging from varying lengths of seven oval rings representing the days of the week. Each year during the holiday season, City Team in Chester organizes donations to help hundreds of families through their Sponsor a Child program. This year, the program has over 1,200 children who are registered for holiday gifts, and it also allows opportunities to volunteer. Our team is proud to participate again this year.

Array was honored to join Neighborhood Health Centers of the Lehigh Valley at the open house of their newest location in Downtown Allentown, PA! The event was held in conjunction with National Health Center Week and introduced the community to the services available at the new location. Array was proud to help NHC validate the new location and perform current and future state mapping to ensure it will meet their future goals.
