Bringing down the fall decorations this week? Keep an eye out for uninvited guests. 🎃📦
As Southeast Texas nights finally start to cool off, rodents and insects begin searching for warm, undisturbed shelter for the fall and winter. Attics, wall voids, and cluttered garages are their favorite destinations.
Before you pack and unpack your seasonal bins, keep these 3 prevention tips in mind:
- Swap cardboard for plastic: Mice and silverfish love chewing through cardboard boxes for nesting material. Airtight plastic totes keep decorations safe and pest-free.
- Inspect before you bring it in: Check boxes and wreaths outdoors for spiders, droppings, or chew marks before carrying them into living areas.
- Listen for early signs: Hearing faint scurrying, scratching, or rustling overhead in the evening? Don’t ignore it! Rodent populations multiply fast once they settle inside.
If your attic sounds a little too spooky this month, let our Bugsperts inspect and seal entry points before pests make themselves at home.
