When it comes to septic systems, “𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙨𝙞𝙯𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙡” couldn’t be further from the truth.

It is required for every design to fit the property, and that means factoring in things like:

➡️ How many bedrooms your home has (more
bedrooms = more water use)
➡️ The size of the residence
➡️ Extra structures like shops, guest houses, or barns
➡️ Your soil type and available space for disposal
➡️ Water well locations

All of that determines what kind of system you need...aerobic, drip, conventional, or something in between.

Big changes are coming October 1, 2025 ⬇️

🔹𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗴𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆: New Flood Plain Regulations have been adopted. Starting Oct 1, ANY property improvement may need a permit — fences, driveways, patios, decks, and more… especially if you’re within 100 feet of a flood zone. You can thank growth for this one!

🔹𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆: Permit fees are changing. New rates go into effect Oct 1.

👉 Translation: more red tape, more paperwork.
👉 Good news: that’s our specialty.

Did you know...
..there is a minimum property size if you have septic?

Its true! ✅️
In Texas the minimum property size is different depending on if you have publicly supplied water or private water (water well) on your property with a septic system. The only exception is if your property was subdivided before January 1, 1988.🗓

⚠️ Double check your county before you buy or subdivide, because counties are allowed to be more strict than the the State minimum requires!

Let’s clear this up once and for all… 🧐

👉 Aerobic doesn’t mean “spray system.”
👉 Aerobic doesn’t mean “drip system.”
👉 Aerobic refers to the treatment process inside the tank.

An aerobic system uses oxygen + bacteria to break down wastewater (think of it like your yard’s mini treatment plant 🌿💧).

From there, the treated water is disposed of through:

Spray heads 🚿 OR

Drip lines 🌱

So whether your system is a spray or drip...it’s still aerobic. It’s all about the treatment, not the disposal.

After years of designing these systems in Texas, yes, we still hear “I thought drip wasn’t aerobic.” You’re not alone. 😉
