Let’s discuss ducks 🦆. Although they are very cute, they can cause trouble. Ducks can be carriers of disease and bacteria. Birds can transmit nasty contaminants that cause E. coli, Salmonella, Bird flu (Avian influenza). While most pool chemicals will neutralize many bacteria, some can still survive up to a week. Decoy animal deterrents, such as an alligator, can be employed. Chasing them away and loud noises can also be effective. We have found that enzyme remover works best as it effectively "dries" out their feathers.

I've seen enough. I'm now increasing our chances for snow and ice to 60% for Tuesday, and a full-fledged Gulf coast Winter Storm (more than 1" of snow for Houston) is possible.

Well we are now in the “cone of uncertainty”. As far as pool service next week goes we’re going to play it by ear if the weather makes a turn for the worse we will reschedule/rain service depending on driving conditions.

10 AM CDT update: The NHC has once again shifted the track east and further up the Texas coast and notes more shifts are likely later today. The entire coast of Texas is within the cone of uncertainty. Lots to watch this weekend, but if you are in Texas, pay close attention to the official forecast and how it evolves this weekend. Tropical storm and/or hurricane watches will likely be issued later today.
