More dahlias 😍.

The roadside stand will be open this Saturday morning- dahlia market bouquets and vase arrangements. We will only be open Saturday this weekend!

How many of you would be interested in a garden tour? Tickets would be sold in advance, you are welcome to pick flowers and stroll the garden after the tour! There will be limited number of tickets/spots so it will be a small tour. Dates I am thinking would be September 11 or 12, depending on the weather. Let me know your thoughts! If it doesn’t work out this year, we will definitely do this next year!

And we have a very relevant announcement to make: our nameless dahlia seedling pictured below will be called “Rhinestone Legend”. This one did not have a name that seemed to fit just perfectly, until this week! 

One of the greatest things about growing flowers is being able to share them with the world, but it makes it even better when we can share them with the world and do something good, at the same time! Our hearts are very full tonight! 💖

Let me take you on a garden sunrise stroll!

It's incredible to see every year how the garden changes, and how it has changed from some soil with a dream- to the dream come true. When I am in the garden, I am usually working or picking for the stand, and I sometimes miss how beautiful it really is. So, every now and then when I have time for a sunrise in the garden, I make it happen. I start about 30-45 minutes before the sunrise- you can hear the dew dropping from the sunflowers it is so quiet! I bring coffee with me, because there isn't much better than coffee on a chilly morning in the garden. I find the coziest little corners and spreads of color, then I wait for the sun to work its magic.

The hummingbirds have become one of my favorite things about the garden. They really are social creatures! I hear them before I see them, they come right behind me to say hi. Sunrise is still too early for butterflies. So, the morning is for me, the sunrise, my flowers, coffee, and my little hummingbird friends!

I always put my camera down too soon, and then there is something remarkable I miss. This morning, it was the sun peeking and shining directly over the dahlias. There are some moments that are just not meant for a camera.

I listened to Dolly on Pandora while picking this morning for the stand, after the sunrise. It seemed fitting.

We have had so much rain, the dahlias needed more staking- so today I worked on that until I ran out of posts/twine. Then I enjoyed some garden time for myself swinging, picking and taking pictures💐🥰. I deadheaded some dahlias and had so much fun tossing them into the field- petal confetti is one of my favorite things!
