RBG, NH Community Loan Fund, ROC-NH, Clean Energy NH, and the Town of Exeter all came together to offer a Home Energy Training session for the ROC residents last Saturday. We're so grateful for these partnerships that allow our team to help empower the communities that we serve through live demonstrations and Q&A sessions. Residents of ROCs learned about solutions to improve energy efficiency in their homes, including insulation and air sealing. Included were demonstrations with equipment used during a home energy audit, like a blower door test and an infrared camera. What fun! Thank you to all who participated!

Last year, RBG completed a project for a Franconia homeowner whose house received upgrades to address energy efficiency concerns he had. Through the Home Energy Performance program, as an NHSaves® utility partner, we were able to help this resident implement their project with a utility incentive of $6,000. That was 25% off the total up-front cost!

This project's estimated annual savings using energy modeling*:
• 18kWh of electricity
• 1,035 gallons of #2 fuel oil
• Annual cost savings of $3,740

We are hiring an energy auditor!

RBG works to improve the energy efficiency and resiliency of New Hampshire’s building stock. To do so, we work in partnership with ratepayer energy efficiency programs, installation contractors, and building owners. We are a mission-driven team that cares about what we do and values transparency above all else.

The Energy Auditor position will be responsible for conducting energy audits on both residential and commercial buildings to identify energy efficiency opportunities.

We are so excited to share the wonderful energy efficiency work that is being done in resident-owned communities like Exeter, NH!

Through a partnership between ROC-NH, Resilient Buildings Group, and Unitil, these groups were able to secure funding through the NHSaves program and other grants to provide weatherization to lower energy bills and make these homes more comfortable throughout the year.

Each unit in a multifamily building in Franklin NH needed some energy efficiency work. Through the Home Energy Assistance program, a program for income-subsidized residents through the NHSaves® utility partners, we were able to implement all of this building’s upgrades at NO COST!

Installed Measures:
• Air sealing to reduce drafts
• Update to LED lighting
• Insulate pipes for hot water efficiency
• Insulation in the basement, attic, and walls to keep the home warmer
• New exhaust systems to maintain health and safety
• Install programmable thermostats for the HVAC system

This past September, RBG completed a project for a Concord homeowner whose house received upgrades to prepare it for the cold winter. Through the Home Energy Performance program, as an NHSaves® utility partner, we were able to help this resident implement their $12,617 project for $9,329 – saving them about 26% of the total up-front cost!

• Air sealing to reduce drafts
• Insulation in the basement, attic, and walls to keep the home warmer
• New exhaust systems to maintain health and safety

This past October, RBG completed a project for a Somersworth resident whose home needed a lot of work to get ready for this cold winter. Through the Home Energy Assistance program, a program for income-subsidized residents through the NHSaves® utility partners, we were able to help this resident implement $14,850 worth of upgrades at NO COST!

Installed Measures:
• Air sealing to reduce drafts
• Insulation to keep the home warmer
• Replace bathroom fans and thermostats to increase efficiency

Last month, Jessica from our audit intake team represented RBG at the Second Chances Casino Event, which is an annual event that helps raise money for the New Hampshire Humane Society. This year's event raised $298,500, and RBG was so happy to be a part of their fundraising efforts! Thank you, NHHS for a wonderful night!
