Here is our most recent find. These home owners paid a company 5 years ago to install two new systems. From day 1, the downstairs system has never worked properly. It doesn’t dehumidify, it will only achieve a 10 degree temperature drop across the coil, (industry standard is between 15-20 degree depending on temperature parameters) and runs non stop just to hold 74-78 degrees. We were called out for a second opinion. The previous company that has been doing yearly maintenance for the homeowners came out and did “routine maintenance” on both systems a week or so before us receiving the call, but were only there for 20-25 minutes. 🤦🏻♂️ The home owners were told the outdoor coils were cleaned and the drains were flushed. (Which is only about 10% of what should be completed in any type of preventative maintenance call)
Come to find out, no maintenance was performed, and the downstairs system has had an incorrect piston installed in it from day one, which is the root cause of the symptoms previously mentioned. This mistake has cost the homeowner hundreds, if not thousands of dollars over the past five years of operation. Follow up with us next week for the provided solution!
