🍂 Getting Your Teak Ready for the off season

Teak furniture is naturally durable and made to withstand the elements—but a little seasonal care can help keep it looking beautiful for years to come! 🌿

As we head into the cooler months, here are a few simple steps to protect your teak:

🧼 Clean It Up – Give your teak furniture a thorough cleaning to remove dirt, pollen, and buildup from the summer months. Use a gentle cleaner and a soft brush or cloth.

💧 Let It Dry Completely– Before covering or storing your furniture, make sure the teak is completely dry to help prevent moisture from becoming trapped.

🍂 Protect From the Elements– If possible, move your furniture to a covered area for the winter. If it will remain outside, use breathable, weather-resistant furniture covers.

🪑 Skip the Plastic Wrap – Avoid tightly wrapping teak furniture in plastic. Proper airflow is important and helps prevent moisture and mildew from being trapped.

✨ Teak Oil? – Teak does not require oil to protect it. Over time, untreated teak naturally develops a beautiful silver-gray patina. If you prefer to maintain its original golden-brown color, there are teak-specific products available to help achieve that look available at Out Back.
