Pruned some large hackberries to slow growth and reduce the weight over a house. These trees had been stripped on the back side due to power lines, and the side of the tree over the house had begun to take off as the dominant leader. Reduction cuts in the top of a dominant lead will significantly stunt growth in that part of the tree. This allows the center most leads an opportunity to out grow these leaning branches. This kind of pruning improves overall structure and reduces the chance of a major break.
