We’re honored to receive the Best of Maryland Stewardship Award for the restoration and adaptive reuse of Baltimore's Crisp Memorial Church, which we helped to transform into an annex for Maree G. Farring Elementary/Middle School.

Thank you to our Durable Slate Mid-Atlantic team, Baltimore City Public Schools , and general contractor Plano-Coudon for making this project possible.

We’d like to congratulate our Corporate Safety Director Joe Redd on completing his Certified Instructional Trainer credential, awarded by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).

This certification reflects Joe’s deep understanding of safety practices and his ability to not only effectively train other safety professionals but also design and develop courses himself.

Joe has continuously furthered his education and training whilst working full-time at Durable. Last year, he earned his M.S. in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University, and he's also a Certified Safety Professional and Construction Health and Safety Technician by the BCSP.

Joe has been with Durable for nearly 22 years, and we're incredibly proud of his growth!

We're honored to receive the inaugural Bernini Award for Church Restoration, presented by the Catholic Art Institute, for our work on St. Andrew's Catholic Church.

The ceremony recognized "outstanding achievement in the creation, restoration, and support of Catholic sacred spaces and works of art."

Our multi-year restoration of St. Andrew's, completed in 2020, integrated traditional craftsmanship with modern structural engineering to preserve one of Virginia's most historic churches for generations to come.

Congratulations and thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible!

We've wrapped up phase one of our project at Frank Loyd Wright’s Pope-Leighey House in Alexandria, where our crew gently cleaned biological growth and environmental contaminants from the cypress cladding.

Next month we'll start the second phase, adding a preservative to the wood to protect it from deterioration and conserve its historic value.

We've recently been working at Sully Historic Site in Chantilly, Virginia, where we restored the square cedar shake roofs and completed minor masonry and wood siding repairs on multiple buildings throughout the property.

Our team has shown incredible determination throughout the restoration, persevering through rainy conditions and even working on Saturdays to deliver the project with a quick turnaround.

We extend our thanks to the entire crew for their outstanding teamwork and dedication on this project!
