Prayer for tonight
"My Decisions"
Dear Heavenly Father, I know that my decisions, or lack of decisions, determine the reality of my life. If I don't take responsibility for how I live, my life will feel unfair and overwhelming. Making a decision not to live like this anymore is realizing that at last, I can choose my life’s direction which brings about a feeling of empowerment. You have promised that if I acknowledge You in all my ways, You will direct my path. You have also promised to keep those in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You. Help me, Father, not to be afraid or discouraged when the way I take gets rough, trusting You Lord as my guide I will fear no evil. In my heart Lord, I know that if I'm seeking You first in my life and walking in spirit and truth, then You will be there, guiding my every step and leading me in the path that's not only best for me, but in Your will for my life. Lord, give me that undeniably peace in my heart and mind as I make choices for my life. Thank You, Lord, that You have promised to be with me every step of the way. I pray that my walk and how I live is consistently pleasing to You. In Jesus' name, I pray, AmenINSPIRING THOUGHTS
How God Wants You:
Pleasing God is something that every believer should strive towards. It is not the easiest thing to do in the strength of the flesh. Yet it remains doable to those who chooses to walk and live in the Spirit (Read Galatians 5:16). By so doing they discover that pleasing God is really about living and doing life in a manner that reflects the heart of God. It’s about you making the discovery of “how God wants you,” to be . Throughout Scripture we find many instances of how God wants us to be. In the Book of John we discovered that He wants us to walk in love (Read John 13:34). He wants us to carry the flames of His love wherever we go. Hence, they will know we are His disciples by our love (Read John 13:35). But it doesn’t stop there, pleasing God is being as God is! The Bible sa
ys, He wants us to be holy and without blame as we live out His clove (Read Ephesians 1:4). Again, if we are striving to please God, we must know what pleases Him. Which brings me to this another way of pleasing God. A lifestyle of humility, freedom from the spirit of pride. Scripture says, God resist the proud but give grace to the humble (Read James 4:6). We can never please God living a prideful life! Humility is a condition of the heart that pleases God! I encourage us today to learn to search the pages of Scripture and discover how God wants us. And I pray that we find the grace to submit to what the Lord wants of us, in the Mighty Name of Jesus!
