I never realized how differently our familiar backyard visitors age until I started looking into it 🐿️ A few things I found fascinating:
🐦 Some birds may return to the same garden year after year
🐸 Frogs can live much longer than their brief seasonal visits suggest
🐝 A worker bee’s adult life is short but incredibly busy
🦋 Butterflies often spend more of their lives developing than flying
🐌 Even a small garden snail may be around for several seasons
The exact lifespan varies by species, predators, weather, and food, but it’s fun to imagine how many of our regular visitors we may have seen before.
