Spring is in the air, and the nursery is starting to come alive 🌱

We’re seeing fresh blooms pop up all across the property, and it’s only the beginning of what’s shaping up to be a beautiful season!

We also just received a fresh delivery of local compost from Integrated Elements, made right here in Columbus. If you’re getting your gardens ready, this is a great way to give your plants a strong, healthy start.

We’re opening our new location today at 12:00 PM! We’ve also included a few important notes at the bottom of this post.

Here are our hours for the 2026 season:

Important Notes:

Please keep in mind that this is a soft opening. Our official Grand Opening will take place in mid-April, so be on the lookout for that announcement within the next week or so.

A large portion of the plant material we currently have available is still dormant, although we are starting to see things wake up for spring.

We also have several ongoing projects around the property, so we appreciate your patience as we continue getting everything set up and moved into its permanent place.

Parking: We are currently experiencing delays with installation of the parking lot, but it should be completed by our Grand Opening. In the meantime, please use the temporary designated grass parking area along the gravel drive.

🌿✨ BIG NEWS! We’ve Moved! ✨🌿

We’re beyond excited to officially announce the new home of the nursery!

📍 941 N 500 W, Columbus, Indiana 47201

This move is a huge step forward for us. With 35 acres, we now have the space to expand in ways we’ve only dreamed about — growing out more plant material, carrying a wider selection of trees and shrubs, and continuing to serve our community at a much larger scale.

This new property gives us room to grow right alongside you 🌱

We’ll be announcing our official Grand Opening date very soon! At this time, we’re aiming for a mid-March opening, but there’s a lot happening behind the scenes to get everything ready.

We cannot thank you enough for your continued support — it’s because of you that this growth is possible. Stay tuned for updates, sneak peeks, and opening details coming soon!

Project 2026 is officially happening at Sitka Nursery 🌱

After months of conversations and planning, we have decided that our lease at our current location will not be renewed. But — that’s not the end of the story. We’ve been actively working toward not one, but two new locations for the 2026 season, and we’re incredibly excited about what’s coming next.

✨ First up: Smokey’s Stash by Sitka
A dedicated houseplant shop with room for workshops, events, and community gatherings. We’re even exploring food and beverage options to make this space something truly special.

🌿 Next: the future of Sitka Nursery
We’re planning for more space — bigger parking, additional greenhouses, expanded and better spaced outdoor inventory, and the ability to grow more plant material than we ever have before.

Our goal with Project 2026 is to separate the houseplant shop and the nursery, allowing each to be more focused, intentional, and tailored to the experience you’re looking for.

We can’t share official location details just yet, but we hope you’ll follow along here and on our website as Project 2026 continues to take shape. We can’t wait to share more. 💚

💚 A Note from Sitka Nursery 💚

With extreme winds, frigid wind chills, and very limited remaining houseplant inventory, we’ve made the decision to close early for the season.

This season has been incredible, and we’re truly grateful for every visit, kind word, and plant you’ve taken home. Thank you for supporting Sitka — it means more than we can say.

While we’re nearly sold out of houseplants, we still have plenty of outdoor inventory available, including trees, shrubs, and other landscape plants.

Even though we’re closed for regular hours, we’ll still be available by appointment. If you need something, please call us at (812) 900-4616.

We’re also working on adding our current inventory and new-coming arrivals to our website so you can browse and place pre-orders anytime.
