Celebrating 5 years with Rick Fields at New Avenue.
Rick joined New Avenue after decades in the industry, bringing both experience and perspective to the team. What originally drew him to architecture was the combination of two things he enjoyed most: construction and art.
Over the last five years, he’s been part of projects ranging from affordable housing and healthcare to restaurants and mixed-use developments, including projects like The Enclave on Main, The Counseling Center in Portsmouth, and Agave & Rye in Grandview.
But when asked what he’s most proud of throughout his career, his answer had less to do with buildings themselves and more to do with the people they serve.
“Over the last 30 years, I’ve been fortunate to be part of projects that improve people’s lives through affordable housing, nursing care, and assisted living environments. Creating clean, comfortable, and economical spaces for the community has been incredibly rewarding.”
Rick also shared that one of his favorite parts about New Avenue is the team itself:
“It’s like working with family.”
Outside the office, you’ll usually find Rick spending time with his wife Marlene, playing pickleball, taking walks, or checking out local festivals.
We’re grateful for Rick’s experience, leadership, and the perspective he brings to the team every day. Congratulations on 5 years, Rick!
