Our team had the opportunity to visit a project currently in the construction phase, and it was incredible to see the progress firsthand.
From countertops and air circulation to every precise measurement in between, there’s so much detail that goes into bringing a space together.
We loved getting a behind-the-scenes look and continuing to learn throughout the construction process. 🛠️👏

A couple days ago, we shared a beautiful kitchen transformation. It truly changed how this family lives in their home.

But let’s be honest for a second. Was it completely seamless?
Not exactly.

Did challenges come up? Absolutely.
Were we ready to solve them? Also yes.

That’s the advantage of having a residential designer on your side.

From the start, thoughtful preplanning helps prevent most challenges from becoming real problems. We do our homework so we can anticipate what’s ahead. But when you’re working with older homes, surprises can still pop up, especially once walls start coming down.

In this case, we uncovered an unexpected wall offset in the living room. Not ideal, but not a dealbreaker either.

Instead of forcing a workaround or moving walls, our design team incorporated the offset directly into the kitchen layout and tucked it into the cabinetry. The result is a clean, cohesive design where the “problem” completely disappears.

Inside “The Cascade,” the experience is a vertical journey.

Designed by Josh, this award-winning lake house moves with the natural slope of the land—each level revealing more light, more water, and more openness.

A glass skybridge connects the garage to the main living space, bringing daylight deep into the home. As you move downward, the architecture shifts from structure to experience—blurring the line between indoors and outdoors.

Even the lower level feels elevated, with light-filled bedrooms that transform what is often a basement into a true retreat.

The Cascade is designed not just to overlook the lake, but to live in constant dialogue with it.
