At Brexton, building stronger communities goes far beyond construction projects. This year, our team had the opportunity to partner with J.O.I.N. in Columbus, Ohio to assemble bags filled with essential items for individuals experiencing homelessness.

From hygiene products to everyday necessities, these care bags are a small way for us to give back and support members of our community who need it most. We are proud of our team for stepping up and living out Brexton’s commitment to service, compassion, and community involvement.

Thank you to J.O.I.N. for the incredible work you do throughout Columbus and for allowing us to be part of this meaningful effort.

These aerial shots of our Georgetown Kentucky cross-dock jobsite highlights just how far this project has come. From early groundwork to where we stand today, it’s been exciting to watch everything come together from above.

Proud of the team, the coordination, and the momentum behind this build. Looking forward to pushing it across the finish line!

Brexton is excited to be celebrating Women in Construction Week.

Today we would like to highlight Elizabeth Morris at Brexton.

Getting to know Elizabeth:

Q.) What’s a project you’ve worked on that your especially proud of and why?

A.) As someone on the sales side, seeing our two logistics projects in Kentucky progress from concept to reality has been incredibly rewarding. Watching the transition from initial deal-making to full-scale construction has been truly exciting.

Q.) What skills do you think are most important for women entering construction today?

A.) When looking at the broader landscape of women entering the construction industry, it’s inspiring to see more women experiencing the collaborative nature of the field, not only among the trades, but across the many people and companies that bring a project to life.

Q.) Outside of work, what are you passionate about?

A.) Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new restaurants in Columbus and in other cities. I love discovering what’s emerging in the wine and food industries. I also enjoy running and spending time outdoors.

Brexton is excited to be celebrating Women in Construction Week.

Today we would like to highlight Liana Daubner at Brexton.

Getting to know Liana:

Q.) What’s one challenge you’ve faced in this industry, and how did you overcome it?

A.) Like many in construction, I’ve faced the challenge of talent recruitment and retention in a competitive labor market. Supporting growth while maintaining culture, compliance and operational efficiency require intentional leadership and strong systems behind the scenes.

Q.) What skills do you think are most important for women entering construction today?

A.) Confidence, adaptability and strong communication skills. Being able to speak up, ask questions and contribute ideas confidently is essential. At the same time, adaptability is critical - projects shift, timelines change, and challenges arise daily.
Women who can stay solution-focused and resilient will thrive.

Q.) Outside of work, what are you passionate about?

A.) Outside of work, I'm passionate about staying active and spending time investing in myself and my family. I enjoy fitness, setting personal goals, and maintaining balance while continuing to grow both personally and professionally.

Brexton is excited to be celebrating Women in Construction Week.

Today we would like to Highlight Paige Sims at Brexton.

Getting to know Paige:

Q.) What’s a project you’ve worked on that you’re especially proud of and why?

A.) The two cross-dock facilities that we are wrapping up in
Kentucky. They were bid simultaneously with multiple changes to keep track of.

In hopes of getting one of the projects, we were awarded both!

Q.) What’s one challenge you’ve faced in this industry, and how did you overcome it?

A.) One challenge I’ve faced is my lack of field experience as an estimator. Anytime there is something I am not knowledgeable about; I seek insight from those in the industry ranging from the company leaders to our project managers and subcontractors.

Q.) Outside of work, what are you passionate about?

A.) Not sure if this is considered a passion but I love learning new things, even if its small.

I have many “side quests” currently from learning how to play the drums and picking up a second language. My ongoing “passion” is dancing. Whenever I see a video with choreography that catches my eye, I will replay in my head until I learn it.

Brexton is excited to be celebrating Women in Construction Week .

Today we would like to Highlight Anna Galo at Brexton.

Getting to know Anna:

Q.) What inspired you to pursue a career in construction?

A.) I got into architecture because of my interest in the grey area of the built environment. I saw what was guaranteed in architecture and was curious how that could be broken down and rebuilt, maybe to cultivate a sense of community or a sense of general well-being. The theory of it excited me.

I wanted to go into construction because architecture can oftentimes feel disconnected from the actual construction of the building. I wanted to know how everything came together, who was involved, what each step of the process was, and how a building really came to life.

Q.) What skills do you think are most important for women entering construction today?

A.) Construction is a very collaborative field, so I think it’s important to be well-versed with that. There is a lot of communication, teamwork, and a sacrifice of the ego that goes into the completion of a project. I think a lot of that comes naturally for women in the field.

Q.) Outside of work, what are you passionate about?

A.) I love to cook! I’ve been trying to expand my palate with exciting new cousins. I’ve been having a lot of fun stocking up my spice cabinet this year.
