A Kitchen Refresh Without Painting the Cabinets!

Our clients wanted to brighten their kitchen and dining area while keeping the warmth and character of their natural wood cabinetry.

Instead of painting all the woodwork, we focused on the stained crown molding and window trim, transforming them to a beautiful Pure White. The baseboards and door casings remained stained to maintain a natural flow with the rest of the home.

Our process included:

* Thorough sanding and surface preparation
* Two sprayed coats of Gallery primer, with sanding for a smooth finish
* A sprayed finish using Benjamin Moore Command in Pure White
* Ceilings painted in Pure White using Sherwin-Williams Emerald Matte
* Walls refreshed in Agreeable Gray using Emerald Matte

The result? A brighter, fresher space that complements the existing cabinetry and hardwood floors without sacrificing the home’s original character.

Sometimes it’s not about painting everything. It’s about knowing what to paint and what to leave alone.

From full containment to a factory-style finish. ✨

This kitchen cabinet refinishing project included our mobile, in-home spray booth and containment system, which stayed in place throughout the 5-day process to protect the surrounding home and allow us to properly spray the cabinet frames on site.

A beautiful cabinet finish starts long before the topcoat goes on. We carefully protected countertops, floors, appliances, lighting and surrounding areas, removed doors and hardware, cleaned, sanded, repaired and primed everything before applying the finish coats.

We used Renner professional cabinet coatings to achieve the smooth, durable, factory-like finish you see here.

Lots of preparation. Lots of protection. And a completely refreshed kitchen without replacing the cabinetry.

Remember the cabinet prep I shared earlier this week? Here’s the finished kitchen! ✨

A lot of work went into getting these cabinets ready before the final finish — sanding, repairs, priming, masking and spraying — but it was worth it. We finished everything in White Dove using Renner coatings, and I’m really happy with how smooth and clean everything turned out.

The brass hardware looks beautiful against the new color, and the whole kitchen feels brighter without losing its character.

Cabinet refinishing is definitely all about the prep, and this one came together beautifully. 🤍

The prep is complete and this kitchen is ready for its transformation!

Before we ever start spraying, there’s a lot that goes into preparing a kitchen for cabinet refinishing. Doors and drawer fronts are removed, surfaces are thoroughly prepped and sanded, and the kitchen is carefully masked and protected.

For this project, we’ve also set up a dedicated sanding station using our new Festool air filtration system along with Festool lighting to help us spot even the smallest imperfections before coating.

Next up: spraying Renner professional cabinet coatings for a smooth, durable, factory-like finish.

Can’t wait to show you the finished kitchen! ✨

Friday is prep day on this exterior! ☀️ My crew is hard at work protecting the windows and landscaping, masking, and caulking gaps and joints before the paint goes on.

I’m proud of the care they put into the details. Stay tuned for the finished look!

A fresh color palette completely transformed this exterior!

This stucco had never been painted, so proper preparation was an important part of this project before applying the new finish.

Our complimentary professional color consultation helped the homeowner confidently select a beautiful, cohesive palette: Accessible Beige for the stucco, Alabaster for the trim, Indigo Batik for the shutters and garage doors, and Copper Harbor for that perfect pop of color on the front door.

The result is a completely updated exterior while still complementing the style of the home.

If updating your exterior has been on your list, now is the time to get it scheduled before the Ohio weather changes! Exterior painting season won’t last much longer.

What a transformation! ✨
This project received a complete refresh, including ceilings, walls, doors, trim, stair risers and stringers. Going from the darker wall colors to a fresh, light finish completely brightened the stairway and upstairs hallway while giving the entire space a cleaner, more updated look.

Another beautiful transformation by the Lengacher Painting team! 🎨
