The projects moms actually ask for... Not usually more “stuff.”

Usually spaces that make everyday life easier, calmer, and better for the family.
• A bigger kitchen with room for everyone to gather.
• A backyard ready for summer nights and family cookouts.
• A bathroom that finally feels relaxing at the end of the day.
• More storage and less clutter throughout the house.
• Functional spaces that actually work for busy family life.

The best home projects aren’t always about luxury. Sometimes they’re about creating a home that feels more comfortable, organized, and enjoyable for the people living in it every day.

If you’ve been thinking about starting a project this spring or summer, NOVA Construction & Remodeling is here to help bring those ideas to life. 🛠️

Gift her the space she needs this Mothers Day!

Hail storms can do more damage than most homeowners realize, and you might not notice it right away.

After a storm rolls through, here’s what you should be looking for:
• Roof damage: Dark spots, bruising, or missing granules on shingles
• Gutters & downspouts: Dents, cracks, or sections pulling away
• Siding: Chips, cracks, or small holes from impact
• Around your home: Pieces of shingles or debris on the ground
• Inside your attic: Water stains, damp insulation, or musty smells

The reality is, hail damage doesn’t always leak immediately, but it weakens your roof and shortens its lifespan. What looks minor now can turn into a much bigger repair after the next storm.

If you’re unsure, it’s worth having it looked at. Catching it early can save you time, money, and stress down the road. We can inspect the damage, walk you through what’s going on, and help you take the next step if repairs are needed.

Damaging storms with heavy rain and hail have been rolling through the Midwest lately, so let’s ask the question most homeowners forget: When was the last time you checked your roof and gutters?

After a storm, small issues can turn into major repairs if they’re left alone. Here’s what to look for:
• Check your roof (from the ground if possible): Missing shingles, dents from hail, or debris buildup
• Inspect your gutters: Overflowing or clogged gutters can push water back toward your home instead of away from it
• Head to the attic: Look for water stains, damp insulation, or any signs of leaks
• Watch your ceilings and walls: Discoloration or bubbling paint can be early warning signs

The truth is, most roof damage isn’t obvious right away, but it doesn’t take long for water to find its way in. If something looks off, don’t wait. Catching it early can save you from much bigger repairs down the road.

Spring is the right time to take a closer look at how your home held up through the rainy season.

Moisture can quietly cause damage to areas like siding, decks, foundations, and drainage systems—and if it’s not addressed early, those small issues can turn into much bigger (and more expensive) problems. Walking your property now and identifying any signs of wear, water damage, or drainage concerns can help you stay ahead of it.

Planning repairs or upgrades this time of year not only protects your home, but also sets you up for a smoother project before peak season hits.
