This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember those who have served.

Homes are where stories are shared, traditions are carried forward and moments of reflection find their place. Today, we recognize the meaning behind those moments and the lives that made them possible.

A meaningful milestone for 2200 Sumter Street.

We were proud to join Yip Premier Real Estate, LLC, community leaders and project partners in celebrating the ribbon cutting of their new headquarters in Columbia’s Cottontown neighborhood.

This adaptive reuse project transformed a historic structure into a modern workplace designed to support collaboration, connection and long-term growth while preserving the architectural character that defines the building and its surroundings.

Thank you to Yip Premier Real Estate, Cohn Construction, Historic Columbia and everyone involved in bringing new life to this space.

Thinking about building this summer? It’s one of the most strategic times to begin.

With most projects taking between 12–30 months, an early start allows for a more thoughtful design process and positions your home for completion ahead of key moments in the year. Planning now also creates space to navigate timelines with flexibility, accounting for the unexpected while keeping your goals in focus.

We’re grateful to Historic Columbia for recognizing 2200 Sumter Street with a 2026 Preservation Award in the category of Preservation, Rehabilitation or Restoration. 🏆

Working alongside Yip Premier Real Estate and Cohn Construction, this project transformed a former auto repair shop into a revitalized commercial space while preserving the elements that define its historic character. The restored steel windows, exposed bowstring trusses and renewed relationship to the street all reflect a shared commitment to thoughtful preservation and long-term community investment.

Projects like this demonstrate how existing structures can be reimagined in ways that honor both history and future use.

Designed with Kiawah Island in mind. 🌿

Natural textures, soft coastal light, and layered rooflines come together to create a residence that feels both grounded and refined. A quiet response to its surroundings, where architecture complements the landscape rather than competing with it.

Reinvestment starts with intention.

This adaptive reuse project transforms a former auto shop into a refined commercial office, one that not only serves its tenants, but also creates space for gathering, collaboration, and community.

Originally constructed in 1832, 17 Thomas Street reflects a careful balance of preservation and modern living.

The renovation, recently recently recognized with a 72nd Carolopolis Exterior Award from the Preservation Society of Charleston, restored defining architectural elements of the historic Charleston single house while reconnecting interior spaces to the home’s side porches and gardens. A thoughtfully scaled addition introduced an informal living room, office and family entrance while maintaining the character of the original structure.
