Artsy Girl art studio Diana Thomas is available to make presentations to your organization about her work, "Current Color - a year on the river".

The 30-45 minute talk with power point presentation presents the artistic life lessons learned while tackling a personal commitment to paint a scene from the Susquehanna River every week for an entire year. Diana credits this unusual work with being instrumental in helping her navigate troubled waters, including the tragic deaths of her daughter and her daughter's mate to heroine addiction during that year. Everything about her presentation is applicable in our lives, from her painting technique, to how she sees things, setting goals, commitment, riding the rapids of life, and the peace giving continuity of the river's flow.

"Current Color on the Susquehanna River: An Artist's Reflection on Life and Painting"

A river can be a force of power, and it can be a haven of peace. For landscape artist Diana Thomas, the Susquehanna River is a never-ending source of inspiration, healing and hope. With a goal of painting a river scene every week for at least a year, the artist embarked upon a project that plunged her from the joy of art to the grief of losing her daughter as well as her son-in-law. This book is the culmination of that time along the river, with 50+ images, journal entries and poems.

Current Color on the Susquehanna River takes you along the author's journey from an artistic challenge one winter, through the search for well-being, to finding beauty in a river that, like life, never stands still.

As you view these paintings and read these words, you too will feel the river tugging you-always relentlessly tugging you-forward through life's changing but constant seasons.
