Engineers Site+Social takes on Southwest Missouri! 📍

We brought Engineers Site+Social to our Springfield location this year, giving the next generation of engineers, estimators, and project managers a chance to get out of the office and into the field. 💪

The group toured our Route MM Improvements project, getting a firsthand look at a major heavy highway project and what it takes to build Southwest Missouri’s infrastructure. From there, we headed to Classic’s Yard to keep the conversations going over some friendly competitions, games, and time to make connections.

Hands-on experience, industry connections, and a few continuing education credits along the way? We call that a win. 👊

We’re back with another progress update on the Alura Apartments at Discovery Park. 💪

The crew is in the final stretch of dirt work with just 2,500 cubic yards left to move, and underground utilities are nearly complete with only 350 linear feet remaining.

With that work wrapping up, crews are laying curb and gutter and paving asphalt

Kudos to our employee-owners for keeping things moving. This site is taking shape and getting closer to welcoming new residents to Lee's Summit.

We couldn’t let him ride off into retirement without bringing in the family, some BBQ, and giving Tony the sendoff he deserves.

It's , a time to recognize the success of workplace health and safety programs. This year, ESS is part of that story in a bigger way.

We now have a seat on the ANSI A10 Accredited Standards Committee, the group responsible for developing and revising health and safety standards for the construction and demolition industries.

Safety is a big part of how we do business at ESS, and it’s what got us to this table. Now, with the experience of our employee-owners to guide us, we're helping shape health and safety standards for the industry beyond our own jobsites.

We don't just follow the standard. We help set it.

They spend it out on the job, learning from the best, and getting their hands dirty.

This year, we welcomed 63 interns who jumped right into the action. From working alongside experienced crews to learning what it takes to be an employee-owner, they got a front-row seat to how we build infrastructure and careers.

We've all been there... You're cruising the interstate when traffic suddenly slows to a crawl. 😅

Our employee-owners are working on smoothing that out on I-44 between Waynesville and St. Robert by adding climbing lanes and extending the acceleration lane at Exit 159. We're helping to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion where it matters most.

A lot is happening at the Woodhaven subdivision, and our crews are keeping the momentum rolling. 💪

We're proud to be back alongside Ashlar Homes as work continues across multiple phases of this growing development. With the first and second plats already complete, it's exciting to see this community continue to take shape.

This isn't the only project we're partnering on either. Our teams are also out at the Woodlawn and Fox Hollow subdivisions, helping lay the groundwork for more neighborhoods across the Kansas City Metro.

Nothing beats getting to build with partners who keep coming back. We appreciate the continued trust from Ashlar Homes and look forward to what's next. 🤝

Our crews are blasting through rock to make way for the Liberty Commons in Independence, Missouri. 💥

This project marks the first blasting permit approved by the city in 20 years. 🤯 The work will pave the way for a new single-family neighborhood featuring 123 residential lots, bringing new housing opportunities to Independence for the first time in years.

New plant. More production. Same hardworking crew. 💪

The Gravette plant has been a staple for ESS since 2008, supplying asphalt for our paving crews and customers across the region. As demand continues to grow, so does the need for more production capacity. Last winter, our employee-owners replaced the existing plant with one capable of producing 400 tons of asphalt per hour, up from 260 tons per hour, allowing us to support larger projects and better serve our customers.

From demolition to startup, the crew had the new plant up and running in just 3½ months.

That's a lot of hard work, long days, and teamwork packed into a short timeline. Huge shoutout to everyone who made it happen. 👏
