Hansman Home Remodel

Hansman Home Remodel Living through the Ultimate Remodel!! Our Story!! Let's start from the beginning and take you back to 2012. Let's jump to 2022!! LOL!! John & Monica Hansman

If you are so intriuged, like and follow our page to see how we go from approximately 1,500 square feet to 3,000 square feet all while living in the house!! We bought a 90 acre farm north of Columbia that had a small house on the property that was built in 1985. The home was a 3 bedroom, 1 bath, 1 car garage at approximately 1,200 square feet. Of course we were used to new construction so we remod

eled the inside of the home and moved in a few months later. Our family and friends would joke how the inside was like a Hansman Home though the outside was still the same. Flash forward 5 months and we soon found out our family of three would soon be a family of four. So after a few short months, we began to remodel again and turned the one-car garage into our home office and added a 1/2 bath and another one-car garage and decided to remove the metal siding and replace with Hardi board siding and cultured stone. In October 2013, we welcomed William and were living happily in our now approximately 1,700 square foot house with 5-year old Benjamin and a newborn. John and I had tossed around the idea of do we build a new home on the property or remodel our current home which is situated in the perfect location. We definitely knew we needed more space and this Mama was ready for her own bathroom because let's face it...who wants to share a bathroom with a 15-year old boy. After lots of conversations, we finally decided we would do the ultimate remodel and take off the roof and remodel our current home. The remodel will be a 2-step process because if you remember, we are living here throughout the remodel. Our boy's aren't excited about it but I tell them this will be an experience to remember. We will complete the upper level first which will consist of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a family room. William's room will become the stairwell so he will actually lose his room during Phase 1 and we still aren't sure where he's going to sleep. Once the upstairs is complete we will all move upstairs and then we will get started on the main floor remodel where we will combine Benjamin's room and our room in to the Master Suite. The one-car garage will become our home office, and the office will now turn back in to the original garage from 2013. We are adding a two-car garage which John is excited because he has always parked in the detached shop which was fine when it wasn't raining or snowing. The only room I don't get to touch right now is the kitchen, which I was a little bummed about but I can't complain because it still is a beautiful kitchen and beggars can't be choosers. So, here we are, living through the ultimate home remodel!! We welcome you to join us as I document our home remodel Follow and pray that all things go as planned!!
