Before the first wall comes down, our very first job is protecting your home! That's why the opening days of a Prima Construction remodel are often surprisingly quiet — we're busy laying down floor coverings, building dust barriers, and shielding everything from stairs to door frames. Read our latest post to see the careful, room-by-room system we build before demolition ever begins.

Before the first wall comes down, our very first job inside your home is to protect it. At Prima Construction, site protection is the foundation of every

We love turning a basement that simply exists into one that actually supports daily life! For this Twin Cities family, that meant a more usable bathroom, better natural light, and dividing the open area into a work-from-home zone and a play space for the kids. Read the full story of how we got there — and what the old house made us solve along the way.

"We have a lot of space, but we're not fully using it." It's one of the most common things we hear about a basement. For this Twin Cities family, the goal was

Got a Twin Cities home that's pushing a century old? There's a good chance your original galvanized supply lines are past their expected lifespan and quietly causing the "low water pressure" and surprise leaks homeowners keep asking us about. We broke down what's actually happening inside those pipes and how we handle it during our remodels — read the full post on our blog!

Most of the older Twin Cities homes we remodel — plenty of them close to a century old — still have their original galvanized supply lines in place. Those

What started as a water-damage insurance repair in a North Loop riverfront condo became a chance to make this downtown loft truly work better than before - new full bath, fully tiled bathrooms, and a handful of comfort and code fixes along the way. Remodeling inside a concrete high-rise is a whole different animal, from protecting shared hallways to scanning the post-tension slab before drilling. We're sharing exactly what a restoration like this takes - the cost, the timeline, and the lessons learned.

What began as an insurance repair after water damage became an opportunity for the homeowners to go beyond simple repairs and truly make their downtown loft

When you open up a 1911 St. Paul home, the walls can hold surprises — and this kitchen had a big one: solid structural brick that explained why it could never hold heat, even with three radiators! We framed new insulated walls just inside the brick, reworked the layout to keep the homeowners' original cabinets, and gave them a kitchen that can finally stay warm through a Minnesota winter. Read the full story on the blog.

When you remodel a house built in 1911, the walls sometimes have a surprise waiting behind the plaster. On the Joers kitchen in St. Paul, we opened up the

Sometimes the answer isn't a bigger bathroom — it's a smarter one. We reworked this 1920s South Minneapolis bath entirely within its original footprint, rerouting century-old plumbing and leveling a settled floor to give a growing family a room that finally works as hard as they do.

When a growing family in South Minneapolis asked us to rethink their second-floor bathroom, the real problem wasn't space — it was how the space worked. The

The vintage look is timeless. The "vintage draft" is not. 🥶
We love preserving the character of older homes—like this moody St. Paul bathroom with its original restored clawfoot tub. But we believe you shouldn't have to sacrifice modern comfort for historic charm.
The secret weapon in this room? Heated tile floors.
It’s the invisible upgrade that changes everything. No more cold toes in the morning, and no more shivering while you wait for the bath to fill.
We are currently booking bathroom projects for Spring 2026. Get on our calendar now, and next winter could be a lot warmer.

Bold Color in a Sea of White. 🎨
Most of the time, our job involves making a space feel larger and lighter with neutrals. But for this project in Roseville, the homeowner wanted energy.
As a professional graphic designer, they didn't want "close enough." We went through multiple rounds of custom color matching to nail this specific "Coca-Cola Red" finish.
But the real challenge wasn't the color—it was the layout. With 7 windows and 3 doorways, the kitchen was basically a hallway. We created a peninsula "cockpit" to give the cook a secluded zone without closing off the room.

We’ve been quiet for a reason. 🌍
After 4 consecutive years of winning the Guildmaster Award for Service Excellence, we made the tough decision to pause operations in 2025. We took the year to travel, recharge, and find new design inspiration.
Now, we are back. We are refreshed. And for the first time in years, our design queue is wide open.
We are ready to tackle the plaster, radiators, and quirks of your older Twin Cities home.
