What if you could solve project challenges before construction even begins?

That’s the value of preconstruction.

Many people hear the term preconstruction and think it’s all about estimating costs. In reality, it’s where some of the most important project decisions are made.

By involving a general contractor early, owners gain a partner who can identify risks, improve constructability, align budgets with project goals, and solve challenges before they reach the field. The result is a more predictable project, fewer surprises, and a stronger path from concept to completion.

At Bryan Construction, we view preconstruction as the bridge between vision and ex*****on. It’s about bringing the right people together early to protect project goals, maximize value, and set the entire team up for success.

In this first installment of our Preconstruction Perspectives series, our team shares why early collaboration matters and how thoughtful planning helps projects move forward with confidence.

What makes a strong construction team?

Curiosity. Collaboration. Continuous learning.

Recently, members of our New Employee Orientation group toured a specialized secure space project, giving team members from a variety of roles the opportunity to see firsthand how Bryan Construction approaches complex, highly specialized environments.

From project management and operations to preconstruction, field leadership, and administrative support, our team members represent a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Opportunities like this help deepen our understanding of the work we do while strengthening collaboration across teams.

Projects of this scale require extensive planning, coordination, and collaboration across teams, trades, and stakeholders. Experiences like these reinforce the teamwork required to successfully deliver projects in secure facilities, healthcare environments, mission-critical spaces, and other technically demanding markets.

Delivering complex environments starts with building knowledgeable teams.

A look into the first few days of our 2026 Intern Program at Bryan Construction 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️

From orientation and team lunches to conversations with former interns who have since grown into full-time roles, the week was designed to give our interns a real introduction to the people, projects, and culture that make up Bryan Construction.

One of the highlights was the intern alumni panel, where past interns shared advice, career experiences, and insight into their transition from internship to full-time construction careers. Creating opportunities for mentorship, connection, and hands-on learning is an important part of how we invest in the next generation of industry professionals.

We’re excited to see this group continue learning, building relationships, and gaining project experience throughout the summer.

The Temporary Lodging Facility project at Peterson Space Force Base had an unexpected visitor on site a couple of weeks ago. 🐍

Thankfully, Superintendent Kevin McCullough handled the situation like a pro and safely released the snake outside of the project site.

Building projects, maintaining safety, and occasional wildlife relocation services are all in a day’s work.

Progress is becoming visible at the future Swedish Burn Clinic space. 🏗️

The project team recently completed a box walk, an important construction milestone that gives the architect, tenant, and project partners the opportunity to walk the framed space and verify layouts, electrical box locations, and low-voltage coordination before drywall begins.

At this stage, adjustments can still be made efficiently, helping ensure the final space supports both operational flow and patient experience from day one.

These walkthroughs may look simple on the surface, but they represent one of the most collaborative phases of healthcare construction. Every outlet, device location, and room layout is reviewed with intention before walls are closed up.

We’re proud to be working alongside CBRE and Davis Partnership Architects as this space continues to take shape.

Up next: rough framing, electrical progression, and continued buildout as the future clinic moves closer to reality.

Mental Health Awareness Month may be coming to a close, but supporting one another doesn’t stop here.

This week, employees in the corporate office were invited to take a small item to support stress relief, hydration, relaxation, or a mental reset. A simple reminder to pause, take care of yourself, and look out for the people around you.

In construction, we rely on each other every day. That support matters on the job site and beyond it. Support can be as simple as checking in, speaking up, or reminding someone they’re not carrying everything alone.

Because building a strong culture starts with taking care of the people behind the work.

Let’s keep looking out for one another 365 days a year.

Renovating an active auto dealership takes more than construction expertise. It takes planning, communication, flexibility, and a team that understands how to keep business moving while work is underway.

That’s why repeat partnerships matter.

Bryan Construction is proud to partner with Red Noland Cadillac as the dealership continues to evolve and invest in its customer and employee experience.

“Even though it’s been different people each time, the sensitivity to our workspace, accommodating, keeping things clean, an awareness that we are doing business… we’ve had the same tremendous experience with each [Bryan] crew.”
— Mike Jorgensen, President, Red Noland Auto Group

For automotive clients, every phase matters because business doesn’t stop during construction. From maintaining clean and operational spaces to minimizing disruption for staff and customers, dealership renovations require a partner that understands the pace and priorities of the automotive industry.

At Bryan Construction, we’re proud to help deliver environments that support both day-to-day operations and long-term growth for dealership partners across Colorado.

Every project starts with safety.

Wednesday night, Bryan Construction was proud to be recognized at the AGC Annual Safety & Environmental Awards Ceremony with both a Construction Health and Safety Excellence (CHASE) Award and a National AGC Safety Award (NASA) in the Building Division.

These recognitions reflect the commitment our teams bring to safety every day through training, planning, accountability, communication, and looking out for one another across every office, project, and jobsite.

The event brought together contractors, safety leaders, OSHA representatives, and industry partners from across Colorado to highlight the ongoing work being done to strengthen safety culture throughout the construction industry.

The CHASE program recognizes companies committed to proactive safety practices, employee training, and strong partnerships that help create safer jobsites across the industry. The National AGC Safety Awards recognize outstanding safety performance among contractors nationwide.

We’re proud to stand alongside industry peers who continue pushing construction safety forward through innovation, accountability, and a shared commitment to protecting our people.

Thank you to our field teams, project teams, safety professionals, and leaders who help make safety foundational to how we build.

Because at the end of the day, the goal is simple: everyone goes home safe.

From early planning to final completion. 🏗️

What began as an undersized maintenance facility at Olde Course in Loveland has been transformed into a modernized space designed to better support the people and equipment that keep the course running every day.

The completed facility now includes garage bays for equipment maintenance, dedicated shop space for welding, and office areas with lockers and a kitchen for the grounds crew.

This project also included demolition of the original structure, a new foundation, utility and site upgrades, and the construction of a pre-engineered metal building designed with long-term functionality in mind.

Swipe to see the transformation from the early stages of the project to the finished space.

Proud of our Fort Collins team and grateful to partner with the City of Loveland on a project that supports both operations and the community for years to come.

We’re excited to welcome our 2026 Bryan Construction interns! 👏

This summer’s intern class brings together students from Purdue University, Colorado State University Pueblo, and Colorado State University with team members supporting projects and operations across Colorado Springs, Denver, and Fort Collins.

We’re also proud to welcome back several returning interns, continuing to build on the relationships, experience, and growth developed with our teams in previous seasons.

At Bryan Construction, internships are designed to go beyond observation. From field experience to project collaboration, our interns gain hands-on exposure to the work, people, and problem-solving that drive the construction industry forward.

As a 100% employee-owned company, investing in the next generation of construction professionals is an investment in the future of our industry and the communities we help build.

Welcome to the team, everyone. We’re excited to see what this group accomplishes this summer. 🔨
