Briargate Transformation — Before ➝ Progress ➝ Final
A Wild One From Start to Finish

Earlier this week we shared the before photos from our Briargate project… and today you get to see the full story.

What started as a simple patio replacement turned into one of the biggest surprises we’ve uncovered this season. Once we removed the old, outdated patio, we found nearly 3 feet of mud sitting underneath it — completely unstable and unsafe for any long‑term structure.

That discovery called for a major correction:
75 tons of excavation to remove the saturated soil and rebuild a proper, engineered base that will stand strong for decades.

From there, the transformation took off.

We installed a brand‑new Belgard Origins paver patio, added Saddleback Swirl decorative rock for clean, modern contrast, and finished the space with a Contemporary metal pergola that brings shade, structure, and a high‑end architectural touch.

We’re excited to share some progress photos from Phase 1 of our largest project this year!

Key Highlights:

• Dirt Work and Excavations: We’ve successfully completed around 500 tons of dirt work and excavations, laying a solid foundation for the project ahead.

• Allen Block Wall: Our team has finished approximately 300 sqft of the Allen block wall and base blocks, ensuring durable structural integrity.

• Upcoming Features: This Monday, we’ll bring the inset staircases to life – a crucial component of the design that will enhance both functionality and aesthetics. We have high hopes of completion by this wed. Then we will move into the front walls which are close to 2k sqft and almost 6k sqft of concrete

Briargate — Full Property Transformation Incoming
Before Photos + 3D Design Preview 📸✨

Next week we’re kicking off one of the biggest projects NYCO Concrete & Design has ever taken on — a full front‑and‑backyard overhaul in Briargate that will reshape this entire property from the ground up.

The before photos show just how huge this space is, and the 3D design concept lays out the full vision of what’s coming. This project is happening in phases, and every part of it is on a massive scale.

Backyard — Phase 1
This area has already seen a full deck and pier removal, clearing the way for what’s next. Phase 1 will include:
• 500+ tons of dirtwork and removal
• Full grading and elevation correction
• A 170‑linear‑foot Allen Block retaining wall with a 4' Max height
• Custom inset staircases built directly into the wall system

Phase 2 will follow with a brand‑new 4‑seasons deck and a custom paver patio that will completely elevate the outdoor living space.

Front Yard — Starting After Labor Day
The front yard transformation is just as massive:
• Removal of large boulder walls
• Demo of 4,000 sq ft of concrete
• Clearing multiple 40–50 ft Austrian pines
• Removal of an 80x30 ft section of overgrown brush and trees
• Relocation of main gas and water lines to make way for the new layout
• Installation of three-tiered Allen Block walls spanning a 12.5 ft rise
• Expansion of the driveway and curb to nearly 6,000 sq ft of new concrete

And all of this… is just the beginning.

Project Kickoff — Bellcove Patio Revamp

A couple days ago we started a full overhaul of this aging paver patio in Briargate— and today we’re sharing the before shots so you can see exactly where this transformation began.

This space has great potential, but the original pavers were settling, shifting, and losing their color. The makeshift steps were becoming a safety concern, and the layout just wasn’t giving the homeowners the outdoor living area they envisioned.

That’s all about to change.

Our team is currently revamping the entire patio with a Belgard Origins Ashwood paver system, complete with a contrasting border, upgraded base prep, and a custom-built pergola to bring shade, structure, and style to the space.

These photos show the starting point — and in just a couple days, we’ll be posting the final reveal. The difference is going to be dramatic.

This project is one of the most technically demanding builds we’ve ever taken on — and the final photos speak for themselves. From the engineering beneath the surface to the custom hardscape above it, every inch of this outdoor living space was built with precision, strength, and long‑term performance in mind.

Here’s what went into creating this first‑of‑its‑kind installation:

• 75+ tons of excavation to carve out the swim spa vault
• 12" of compacted 3/4" interlocking aggregate for a rock‑solid subgrade
• 8" of 4500 PSI exterior concrete engineered for extreme load capacity
• 4\" steel bolsters supporting the entire slab
• #5 rebar at 12" on center throughout the pad and 6\" structural walls
• Custom in‑slab drainage system designed specifically for this vault
• Dual sump pumps for year‑round water management and protection
• Full electrical trenching + a dedicated 2‑pole 100 AMP breaker to power the swim spa
• Belgard Victorian Paver patio installed with clean lines and tight joints
• Custom Melville wall seating benches built for strength and comfort
• Matching fire pit with a 180,000 BTU burner pan — commercial‑level heat for cold Colorado nights

And the craziest part?
All of this was completed in just five days.

This project blends engineering, craftsmanship, and design into one seamless outdoor living space — built to perform, built to impress, and built to last.
