This was our last project of 2025. A custom home in Black Forest, Colorado that was cream polished concrete with 200 & 400 grit resins, acid stained, densifier to harden the concrete after staining and finally 2 coats of clear penetrating sealer with a quick burnish at the end. This was a sea green acid stained floor with green control joints initially but the clients decided they didn’t like the green control joints in the end, you’ll see in the finished photos the new more gray/beige colored joints we installed after cutting and removing the previous filler! You can truly see the transformation on this floor from the start to end photos. You can’t go wrong in your custom home with a heated polished concrete floor with or without stain! Most recently completed 100 grit hybrid finish honed not polished, stained/dyed concrete floor in Colorado Springs! This Honed/dye/densify/seal is a more cost effective option compared to a fully polished floor. As you can see we had a pretty rough substrate to work with, they just painted over the floor, then slapped carpet on it to pass on to the new home owners. We had tons of holes and patches to fill, stains all over the place. The client wanted to avoid a solid color system or epoxy finish and use what we had to work with! With a huge patch in the middle of the floor at least 1” thick where it was exposed enough for us to see it, that was the biggest challenge, but after a few samples and trials with different methods we were better able to make that patch work! In original samples that middle area came out nearly black! We were able to finally work it out to show more brown and work with the floor!

We went from 16 grit metals-100 grit hybrid resins we patched everything between 70s & 100s, then after 100s, cleaned the floor and applied multiple coats of dye which were burnished in between to set the dye in, cleaned again then densified and burnished densifier to set in, followed by cleaning up more and applied 2 coats of clear penetrating sealer. The client was made aware of all the staining/imperfections beforehand and ok with the natural look of the concrete showing through the dye and opted for a lower sheen finish which is typically best on dark floors anyways that way it’s easier maintenance, although this floor would’ve looked crisp highly polished! First photos are before. This was sold to the clients as a polished concrete floor, this was a grind and seal (also tons of gouges and grinder marks left everywhere) with polyaspartic resin… inside an entire main level of a custom home!!! After photos are mechanically polished from 30 grit metals to 800 grit resins, densified and sealed. Spent 8 days total just fixing the edges! The final product turned out great and the clients were extremely satisfied. I didn’t get sealed pictures as I didn’t finish this floor till 3am and was ready to get out of there!
