➡️ This OOPS Could have been Prevented By;

1️⃣ Chimney Seal Product was Not Up to Industry Standards
- The Correct Product Lasts Much Longer than Something Not Optimal for that Use
-
2️⃣ The Surface Area of the Crown was Not Wire-brushed Prior to Application
- Without Cleaning the Surface Properly, the Seal will Not Adhere Correctly, Eventually Peeling & Cracking

Utility Chimney for a Heater had a crack in it ..

How it went from Before to After;
1️⃣ Prior to the Brown Coat, the Chimney securing wire mesh (lath) completely around for Structural Support & Lock the Brown Coat in Tightly
2️⃣ Next a Scratch Coat is Applied. This actually pushes through the holes in the wrapped wire mesh, which seals it to the chimney
3️⃣ Finally, the Brown Coat is applied & a Sponge Float is used to give a textured look to the final look of the Chimney

BEFORE & AFTER Photos 📸

This should be STANDARD for ANY Chimney Repairs,
Otherwise, this could be the Final Result!!
This "Repair" was why this client's Chimney was leaking again ..
We went out to see why they were still getting water into their home ..
Well, the previous Chimney Technician’s example of a repair was putting some kind of tar like substance on the Chimney Crown ..

We thought we've seen it all .. But this one was a first!!
