Tip Thursday from Restoration Roofing:

One small detail that can make a big difference on your roof is a chimney cricket.

When a chimney doesn’t have a cricket behind it, water can pool in that area and increase the risk of leaks over time. A properly built cricket helps divert water away from the chimney and protects one of the most vulnerable spots on the roof.

It’s one of those details homeowners often don’t notice—but it matters.

If you’re not sure whether your chimney is flashed correctly or has a proper cricket, we’d be glad to take a look.
