Recently a customer of ours had their well hit by a truck. This caused major damage to their well casing. We dug up their casing and installed a new pitless adapter and casing riser. Their old riser had been installed improperly. Someone had hammered a pvc coupling directly to steel pipe. That is not a watertight seal. We removed all of that and installed a new pitless connector. Pitless connectors are required to connect pvc to steel well casings. They seal around the steel with a large gasket. This prevents contamination of your water well. We replaced the pump also because it sustained damage from debris falling into the well when it was struck by the truck.
Now they can rest assured that their water is clean and safe. They will have many years of trouble free use with their new pump, also.

We changed out a well pressure tank for a customer who had a short cycling pump. Their tank did not get maintenanced like it should have been. It caused internal damage to the tank. Once that happened, it began short cycling their pump. Now they don' thave to worry about burning up their pump.

Well pressure tanks lose about 6lbs. of air pressure per year. After many years they become waterlogged and the bladder, inside of the tank, becomes damaged. this causes your pump to cycle alot more than it should, leading to pump motor failure.

We have been super busy for the last few weeks. That makes us very happy of course. It has led to not posting much. We appologize for that and appreciate your patience. Here are a few random pictures from the last couple of weeks. We've worked on wells, softeners, general plumbing repairs and even worked on a couple of bathroom remodels, which we don't normally do. This is an extremely dangerous situation! Plugging or capping your T&P relief valve (Temperature & Pressure) on your water heater can be deadly. If your water heater has water coming out of the T&P relief valve, there could be an issue with the heater or even just a weak spring in the relief valve. Either way, replacing the valve or making sure your heater isn't over pressurized or over heating is what needs done. Capping or plugging the T&P valve can cause your water heater to explode(watch Mythbusters episode on this) They intentionally cause one to explode. A 50 gallon water heater went through an up-to-code roof and flew 500 feet in the air. Water heaters can knock a whole house down if they explode. Please, if your water heater is like this one, call a plumbing professional stat! We do not even care if it's not us you call. A situation like this can lead to severe injury or death. Our customer in Monticello, yesterday, had a softener but it had stopped working quite awhile ago. They had been experiencing low flow out of nearly every faucet in their home. We replaced their water softener with a new Watco water softener. We cleaned out all of the clogged faucet aerators and replaced one shower head. As you can see by the photos, hard water scale is a serious problem. The shower arm in the photo is completely closed off with scale buildup. This is called a "spin down" or "blow down" filter. This little filter can save you alot of headaches and money. This customer was experiencing clogged filters every couple of days. We installed this filter, upstream of his regular canister filters. Once the screen gets clogged, he can put a bucket below the drain and turn the red valve. This will wash the sediment into the bucket. Once cleaned out, the red valve closed and he's back in operation. This will save him money, time and make it alot easier to deal with in the future. This leak wasn't terribly hard to find. Keaghan and I just beat the downpours on Friday, in Frankfort. We were able to get this leak dug up, repaired and backfilled in less than three hours. Whoever installed this originally, used thin wall poly pipe. That is not necessarily a problem until you go over top of an old galvanized pipe, already in the ground. The poly pipe was pierced by a union on the galvanized pipe. We re-routed the new repaired pipe away from the galvanized. We only use heavy wall poly for underground work and brass/stainless fittings. This will ensure that our customer never has to have their yard dug up again for this type of leak.
