Seeing brown spots in your lawn after all that rain?
It may not be drought or lack of fertilizer.
After the recent Nor’easter brought several days of continuous rain and prolonged leaf wetness, we’re seeing an uptick in leaf spot disease in local lawns.
Leaf spot is a fungal turf disease that can become active when grass stays wet for extended periods—especially during stretches of cloudy, humid weather. Early symptoms often appear as small brown, tan, or dark lesions on individual grass blades. As disease pressure increases, affected turf can begin to look thin, brown, or generally stressed.
