She's back up 🌻

A few of you may have seen this happen last week... here's a view from our side – our crew and crane, and a clip our millwright foreman Ariel grabbed once the painting was back in place.

The panel came down so the artist, Cameron Cross, could wash and inspect it, and while it was on the ground our team built and welded on a new set of brackets. Those will hold the painting more securely and make it easier to lower next year for it's repaint.

For anyone who doesn't know... this art installation in is the third of Cameron Cross's giant Van Gogh easels, 80 feet of steel holding a 24x32-foot Three Sunflowers in a Vase. You can read more of the history on the SCCD website at https://www.thetopsideofkansas.org/community/plan-your-visit/attractions/big-easel 🤩

Lombardi said it. Our boots prove it. Every bin we’ve set, every pivot we’ve run, every concrete pour that had to be right the first time - that’s what nearly 5 decades in this region looks like. No shortcuts. Just the job done right, season after season. 💪

Already counting down to our favorite carnival rides – the Tilt-A-Whirl, bumper cars, and hopefully the Zipper too.🤞 And of course the parade, demo derby, and all the other treats the county fair offers!

It's the week we all make room in the calendar for. The Thomas County Fair runs July 27 through August 1, and whether you're showing, competing, or just coming out for the food and the fun, there's a reason it never gets old. 🎡
